AFDs

edit

Hello, Miminity,

You shouldn't say, on AFD #1 that your deletion rationale is on AFD #2. At the very least copy over the reason but the deletion rationale should be original. But asking AFD participants to go to a separate page to read why you are arguing for deletion for a different article is just lazy and I doubt you'll get participation. I'm not sure why you thought referring editors to Article 2's AFD to see why you think Article 1 should be deleted made sense. You don't want to have to make participants work to understand your reasons, you need to write a compelling deletion rationale based in policy that demonstrates a BEFORE has been done. It's your job as the nominator to persuasively present your argument, not ask editors to go to a different page to see why you think an article should be deleted. Please correct these nominations if you want to see any editors participating in them. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 03:54, 14 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

P.S. If you are too busy with school to edit then please do not start up AFDs, you should be around to answer questions about them and respond to comments that are made by editors. You might consider withdrawing them if you don't have time now for any follow-up. You can always nominate them later. Liz Read! Talk! 03:57, 14 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Liz: oops no necessarily busy but cannot answer question immediately, but yeah okay note is taken, I'll just withdraw the other Afds Warm Regards, Miminity (talk) (contribs) 05:11, 14 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Nvm, I just fix it. Thanks for reminding me. Warm Regards, Miminity (talk) (contribs) 05:22, 14 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Why was my Missouri Southern draft declined?

edit

You claimed that it didn’t have reliable references, however it has some of the most reliable ones I could find. 2603:8081:15F0:67D0:652F:3772:B29D:CF55 (talk) 12:33, 20 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

The article lacks inline citation to verify each information. See Help:Referencing for beginners for more information. If you need more help ask the Wikipedia:Teahouse. Warm Regards, Miminity (talk) (contribs) 12:38, 20 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
would newspaper articles from the era work? BrisanAAcomastick (talk) 00:10, 21 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes, but please include an inline citation and not just put the sources on the reference section Warm Regards, Miminity (talk) (contribs) 01:04, 21 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Declined submission of Draft:Yuko Iida follow up

edit

Hello Miminity! I am extremely grateful for your kind review.

I mistakenly thought it was enough to add those missing references in the "External Links" section as they come from the same source, but I have added them accordingly to its corresponding entry in the "Filmography" section. I have resubmited the draft, and I would be endlessly grateful if you could give it another quick look and see if it is good now since I have added them. Thank you so much for your time and your valuable advice.

I hope you have a wonderful day! :) MoonsideYasu (talk) 18:04, 20 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

@MoonsideYasu: AnimeNewsNetwork encyclopedia (see WP:ANIMENEWSNETWORK for more info) is not a reliable source (see Wikiproject Animanga online reliable source to see what's a reliable source and what is not) but I don't want to decline it, It nearly good to go, just remove it if it there is no reliable source available. Warm Regards, Miminity (talk) (contribs) 01:03, 21 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hello,
Thank you so so much for your very quick reply during such a busy time, and also for your patience and consideration. I deeply apologize for my mistakes.
Thank you for letting me know about the AnimeNewsNetwork encyclopedia since I wasn't aware, I will definitely take it into account for my future contributions from now on. In this case, I have replaced those source references with her official blog, since they are also listed there, just not in English which is why I opted for the AnimeNewsNetwork encyclopedia but it surely is a better choice to have the source coming directly from the seiyuu herself.
It should be good to go now so I would be incredibly grateful if you could take another quick look.
Once again, thank you so much for your time and your patience. MoonsideYasu (talk) 07:42, 21 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Draft:Seldon Charles Forrester Farmer

edit

Hello Thank you for reviewing this draft. I am very confused by the rejection of the Draft for Draft:Seldon Charles Forrester Farmer as there are multiple accessible references to verify the information provided. People have continued to cite Seldon Farmer nearly 40 years after his death in academic and professional works. Thus it is clear he is notable even without the honour of an OBE. I have consulted the notability pages on wiki and it is clear that he is worthy of a wiki biography, with multiple news, journal, government and Royal notices in a time entirely before the internet. I would be grateful if you would reconsider or make some very specific suggestions about how this page needs to be modified. Many thanks. Zaccwm (talk) 18:56, 20 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Zaccwm: Please read the comment I left. Majority of the sources you provided are written by the subject of the article which make it a primary source, in wikipedia we use secondary or third-party sources to verify and establish notability for a person. If you need more help, try asking Wikipedia:Teahouse. Warm Regards, Miminity (talk) (contribs) 00:55, 21 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, I will see if some of the offline sources can be made available Zaccwm (talk) 07:09, 21 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Draft:Kaizuka period

edit

Can you explain why you declined this for unreliable sources? These sources appear to be academic books. -- asilvering (talk) 02:48, 21 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Asilvering: I decline it as majority of the info on "Divisions" are heavily uncited. It's good enough, but it's not properly uncited and as well as the issue you tagged it. Warm Regards, Miminity (talk) (contribs) 02:56, 21 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Almost everything on this article is cited, so I've accepted it to mainspace. We should only be using the WP:V decline like that when it's a huge problem - ie, something you can't fix in normal editing. If it's just a bit, you can delete it yourself and accept. In this case, the stuff under "divisions" is sourced, just not with footnotes, so it's fine (though of course we'd prefer to see footnotes). For example, the Takamiya chronology is sourced to Hiroe Takamiya. It would take some work to follow up on that reference, but it's good enough to get a pass and a maintenance tag. -- asilvering (talk) 03:02, 21 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Noted, thanks for informing me! I just started reviewing draft yesterday. But, yeah, in retrospect, I should've just made a comment about the issue. Warm Regards, Miminity (talk) (contribs) 03:06, 21 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for helping out! -- asilvering (talk) 03:30, 21 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
but yeah, I think I just commented on it not full blown declined it. Warm Regards, Miminity (talk) (contribs) 03:00, 21 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
