March 2021

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you recently added commentary to an article, List of political parties in the Republic of Ireland. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page. If you post your comments there, other editors working on the same article will notice and respond to them, and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article. However, keep in mind that even on the talk page of an article, you should limit your discussion to improving the article. Article talk pages are not the place to discuss opinions of the subject of articles, nor are such pages a forum. Thank you. Be patient, your article will be approved or denied eventually. --Belwine (talk) 15:37, 2 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Welcome

edit

Hi. And welcome to the project. Thanks for your contributions to date. While all constructive contributions are welcome, you may wish to take a quick look at the relevant content and editing guidelines. Including:

  • WP:TOOSOON - In some cases it may be too soon to create an article (or to add content to an existing article). If an organisation was only formed today, then it may be that there hasn't been enough coverage to either confirm that it exists or is notable.
  • WP:VER - All content should be verifiable. And based on reliable sources. Edits and articles which do not rely on verifiable and reliable sources do not meet this expectation. You might also want to note that, "user generated content" (like a Twitter post) is generally not considered reliable. Anyone can create a Twitter account and post almost anything to that account.
  • WP:EWLO - As you've gone to the trouble of creating an account, please do use it. "Editing while logged out" causes a few issues that are best (and easily) avoided.
  • WP:CON - Wikipedia relies on a consensus editing approach. Consensus is often clarified through discussion. As you may note on the relevant Talk page thread, the consensus is that only political parties with articles should be listed on that article. As any small group can describe themselves as a "political party", unless or until the notability of that organisation has been established, they shouldn't be listed. Otherwise that list would be infinite.
