Re: Rosiestep's page edit

Hello Michaelmmillican. Because my comment was cut off, I wanted to clarify what I was saying in Rosiestep's Request for Adminship (RfA). You and any other editor is absolutely welcome to weigh in on a request for adminship. What I wanted to relate is that while at an RfA you'll see a list of numbered comments, what's happening is not a numerical vote. The outcome of an RfA is actually determined by trusted members of the community called bureaucrats, who weigh the discussion to try and determine if there is a consensus.

The reason your vote was indented is not because it doesn't count, but because with your only edits to date being for this RfA, it's difficult to determine how you know that a particular candidate would be a good admin. Unfortunately, in the past some candidates have canvassed for votes outside of Wikipedia, so the practice is partially in place to prevent this from happening. With three new users all making comments in support of Rosiestep at once, some people may suspect that you were asked you to come and vote. Unfortunately, these suspicions can sometimes hurt a candidate you'd like to help, so I hope you'll understand why I indented your comment.

If you have any questions or would like me to clarify anything, please feel free to leave a note here or on my talk page.

Thanks again for your understanding, and welcome to Wikipedia. FlyingToaster 08:32, 11 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Post-hipster edit

The article Post-hipster has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unreferenced neologism

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. RadioFan (talk) 16:30, 24 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
