I am a recent re-emigre to San Francisco from New York City where I have been a graduate student at NYU for the past two years. My primary interests in graduate school were contemporary and late 20th century Continental philosophy and post-colonial/post-conflict literary narratives. I also studied human rights, the laws of war, neo-liberal economic policy, and some applied psychology and neuroscience in the area of post traumatic stress disorder. The interdisciplinary/transdisciplinary nature of my programs allowed for a tremendous amount of leeway in determining my individual course of study. The title of my MA thesis is Politique sans Limitrophes: Impossible and Necessary Politics in Levinas and Derrida, and focuses on the political implications of the work of French philosopher Emmanuel Levinas and his subsequent influence on the ethical and political thinking of Jacques Derrida.

My current interests concern but are not limited to the nature of transnational capital and commerce, international finance and human rights, state sovereignty, and the political possibilities of art, from Literature to new media. My love of the history of philosophy and the status of literature in contemporary society will always hold my interest; however, I am looking to expand my knowledge and applicability in more practical interests and fields as well.

I am currently working in integrated pest management with Pestec IPM. I am also helping to launch a non-profit organization beyondipm.org. Pestec Administrative Assistant and Intranet developer.
