Welcome!

edit

Hello, and a very cordial welcome to the English Wikipedia. I'm MuZemike. As you probably know by now, Wikipedia is a free content encyclopedia collaboratively written entirely by volunteers. Anybody is allowed to freely edit almost any page here, provided they're in good faith and within some basic rules that we follow. If you make mistakes along the way, that's OK; (I know I've made some mistakes when I started out here, as well.) they'll eventually get corrected.

If you have any questions, just place the text {{helpme}} on your talk page (which is this page right here), and someone will help you shortly. We also have other channels of communication in which you can participate in, whether it be for questions or to even to have a discussion or banter. This includes the following:

We also have many Featured Articles and Good Articles which can help give you good examples of how articles are constructed and written here. Please take some time to read our Five Pillars of Wikipedia, as it gives a good overview about what our encyclopedia is and does. If anything else, remember the three most basic rules we follow:

Finally, don't be worried if this is overwhelming. Wikipedia is a huge website; with 6,845,273 articles, it is the single biggest encyclopedia in the world. Additionally, there are thousands of policy and process pages, and you don't need to know them all right away to get around. You may want to follow this Tutorial to get you started. The place in which you need for feedback on your draft is at Wikipedia:Requests for feedback. I'm afraid to say, but your draft is not going to be a featured article soon, but it may be a basis for a legitimate Wikipedia article. The first link I have provided can give you some feedback as to where to go from there. –MuZemike 05:49, 1 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please have a read over the links provided above. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and is not a promotional vessel or myspace or facebook. Self or local consideration of notability is subject to guidelines. Keegan (talk) 06:13, 1 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Metzfolife/Chris Webby

edit

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on User:Metzfolife/Chris Webby requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} at the top of the article, immediately below the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate), and providing your reasons for contesting on [[Talk:User:Metzfolife/Chris Webby|the article's talk page]], but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

You may want to read the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. Bballlova 99 20:17, 1 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that your user subpage at User talk:Metzfolife/Chris Webby may not be appropriate to be indexed by external search engines as presently written. Typically, this could be because it appears promotional, or contains material in development or archived that doesn't yet meet policies and guidelines. I have tagged this page as "noindex", which allows editing but minimizes the page's inclusion in search engine results.

If you believe that your userpage does not violate our guidelines, please leave a note here and we can discuss it. As an alternative, you may add {{db-userreq}} to the top of the page in question and an administrator will delete it, you can change the page so that it more clearly meets Wikipedia guidelines, or you can edit it as normal and ignore the tag completely (it will not affect editing).

However, please do not remove the tag without discussion. Thank you. --Orlady (talk) 19:30, 22 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
