Proposed deletion of Buti Joseph Tlhagale

edit

The article Buti Joseph Tlhagale has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. reddogsix (talk) 22:55, 6 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Buti Joseph Tlhagale

edit

The article Buti Joseph Tlhagale has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Copied from announcement at http://www.catholicjhb.org.za/about/archbishop-buti-tlhagale/

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. the first versions of the article were very close in wording to other texts about Lindiwe Mabuza that I can find on the web. This is a serious problem from a copyright point of view.

Both articles you have posted so far appear to have been copied from other sources. This is a serious problem for Wikipedia from a copyright point of view and will probably lead to the Lindiwe Mabuza article getting deleted, just like the article mentioned in sections above.

You will now probably need to restart the articles from scratch, based on reliable sources but written them in your own words. You may still use material from elsewhere, but only as references, excepting the odd, short quotation when really needed. --Hegvald (talk) 03:30, 12 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Lindiwe Mabuza

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Lindiwe Mabuza requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.unhcr.org/about-us/promref/3e23e5d94/mabuza-lindiwe.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Please don't copy material from elsewhere online

edit

Hello. I am Diannaa and I am an administrator on this wiki. Prose you find online is almost always copyright, and cannot be copied here; it's against the law to do so. All prose must be written in your own words. There's more information about copyrights and how it applies to Wikipedia at Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright. Copyright law and its application are complex matters, and you should not edit any more until you have taken the time to read and understand our copyright policies. Further copyright violations will result in you being blocked from editing. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 13:06, 12 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Recent edit to List of South African poets

edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your recent edit to List of South African poets added the name of an apparently non-notable entity. In general, a person or organization added to a list should have a pre-existing article to establish notability. If you wish to create such an article, please confirm that your subject is notable according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you! Materialscientist (talk) 11:48, 22 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
