Your submission at Articles for creation: Gheorghe Popescu-Județ (November 14)

edit

Thank you for your recent submission to Articles for Creation. Your article submission has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. Please view your submission to see the comments left by the reviewer. You are welcome to edit the submission to address the issues raised, and resubmit if you feel they have been resolved.

(not sure where to put my comment)

Gheorghe was famous in Romania in the 1950s and 1960s and has since been somewhat forgotten, both in Romania and internationally, except perhaps among Romanian folk dancers. BUT

  • the fact that the Library of Congress has a collection from him and has documented it well must count for something. I think the collection documentation should count as a reliable and verifiable source, esp. the webpage to which I already refer.
  • Also there is an annual dance festival in Romania in his name. I will try to include better references to the latter. There is some media coverage in Romanian on that one.
  • But he has never been discussed by scholarship and not all that much by the media since c.1970.
  • Perhaps the fact, that after his death, his wife and another colleague published Gheorghe's dance notation system in the US counts something.

If that is not enough for you guys, then somebody needs to write an article on him first, I guess, before this article can be published.

808

edit

Hi MauriceM3. I have reverted your edit to 808, because you added material irrelevant to it ~ it is an article about the year A.D. 808, not about the number or any other uses; those articles would have been 808 (number) or 808 (disambiguation). I find it very hard to see how you could have made that error as the slightest glance at the content before your started editing ~ or while doing so ~ would have shown you that you were in the wrong place, so i urge you to be more careful in future. Thanks, Cheers, LindsayHello 04:05, 2 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

I actually noticed my mistake and attempted to revert my own edit. Not sure why that didn't work. I didn't even notice that reverting didn't work. I guess it's good that you saw it. The Roland 808 is already on the relevant page, so nothing to add there. MauriceM3 (talk) 14:26, 2 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
