A page you created has been nominated for deletion because it is a biography of a living person that is entirely negative in tone and contains unsourced content, according to section G10 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

Do not create articles about living people that are entirely negative in tone and unsourced. Wikipedia has a policy of verifiability and any negative information we use must be reliably sourced, and our articles must be balanced. Negative, unreferenced biographies of living people, along with other attack pages, are not tolerated by Wikipedia, and users who create or repost such pages and images in violation of our biographies of living persons policy may be blocked from editing. Managing a conflict of interest

edit

Hello, MattCowley1. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Biggleswade Rugby Club, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Bbb23 (talk) 15:15, 9 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi Bbb23, the Biggleswade rugby club page is the only page I'm going to be looking after now as I need to update the squad when new players join or leave etc. I'm not paid by anyone for this, I do it for the bettering of the club to provide the information on who is playing there etc. There's not a conflict of interest but just a interest in the club. I hope that's ok. All the best Matt. MattCowley1 (talk) 15:27, 9 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
You don't have to be paid to have a conflict of interest. You play for the club, and that means you cannot edit the team article or any page related to it. If you do, you risk being blocked.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:26, 9 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Dan "Plank" Rogers

edit

Hi. Unfortunately we have had to delete this article as we have a strict policy on the biographies of living persons which states "Contentious material about living persons (or, in some cases, recently deceased) that is unsourced or poorly sourced—whether the material is negative, positive, neutral, or just questionable—must be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion". Even if you think this person is important, you must provide adequate coverage in reliable sources that show why it is important for a general-purpose encyclopedia. Otherwise, it absolutely behooves us to err on this side of caution. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 15:22, 9 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ok no worries, I thought that it was ok to write about someone as long as it wasn't yourself. Will let Plank know that he can't have a article about himself. Will check more thoroughly on the rules if I make another article. All the best, Matt MattCowley1 (talk) 15:30, 9 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
That's not really the issue though. You were posting absolute nonsense and are lucky that you haven't been blocked over this. Oh, and your above claim that you don't have a COI wrt to the club when you actually play for them is laughable as well of course. Fram (talk) 15:36, 9 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
