Proposed deletion of Q-Saalschütz summation formula edit

The article Q-Saalschütz summation formula has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No context, no indication of the formula's significance, and not at all meaningful to anyone not already having an expert knowledge of the background. Unsuitable for an encyclopaedia aimed at the general reader.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. March 2018 edit

Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing →   Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. There's only 1 edit summary in your 50 most recent contribs. Even minor edits should have summaries to help see what was done. Thanks.Deacon Vorbis (carbon • videos) 15:25, 22 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Placement edit

Hi MathXplore,

You recently made an addition to the lead of basic hypergeometric series. The purpose of the lead section of an article is to summarize the body. Unfortunately, your addition does not reflect the body at all. Rather than reverting, I want to suggest that you remove that addition from the lead, and instead find an appropriate place in the article body (possibly a new, short section) to include it. --JBL (talk) 01:34, 22 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Massive list conversion to multicolumn format edit

Hi MathXplore

It appears that you are engaged in a massive conversion of lists from single-column format to a multiple-column format. You don't give any reason for this change. In many cases (not all), the list items have more than one line before your edit, which results in more than four lines after you edits, which makes more difficult to have an overview of the list. Also, in at least one case, after your edit, a part of the list was hidden by an image.

Wikipedia's Arbitration Committee, has decided Wikipedia does not mandate styles in many different areas; these include (but are not limited to) American vs. British spelling, date formats, and citation style. Where Wikipedia does not mandate a specific style, editors should not attempt to convert Wikipedia to their own preferred style, nor should they edit articles for the sole purpose of converting them to their preferred style, or removing examples of, or references to, styles which they dislike. (Wikipedia:Requests_for_arbitration/Sortan#Final decision).

Your format change of lists falls clearly under this decision, a may thus lead to an edit ban. So, please, revert yourself these edits, as leaving the job to other editors would be WP:disruptive editing. D.Lazard (talk) 08:47, 31 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
