please don't try to correct grammar and spelling - in most cases you are making it worse. . . Mean as custard (talk) 08:00, 20 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Isaac Newton and Ohm's Law

edit

Hi Manasa cp18,

I've reverted a few of your edits on the two articles above for a few reasons:

  • You altered spelling and grammar in quotations and the names of sources. Quoted text and titles should always remain the same as the original, even if you feel there are grammatical problems with it. In one case you did this in a quote which specifically had a warning in the code not to correct the spelling.
  • You altered 'unravelling' and 'sympathiser' to 'unraveling' and 'sympathizer' on Isaac Newton. This article is about a British person and is written in British English; the existing spellings are perfectly acceptable. Please familiarise yourself with MOS:RETAIN.
  • You changed "the properties of matter and, in particular, its electronic structure" to "the properties of matter and, in particular, it's electronic structure". This is wrong. "its" is the possessive, "it's" is short for "it is" (just as you would say "the bike is hers" not "the bike is her's").

It looks like you have been asked a few times now to stop changing grammar, because you had introduced errors rather than fixing them. Please familiarise yourself with Wikipedia policies and the Manual of Style; and don't make changes unless you are utterly sure your version is an improvement. Wikipedia is reasonably well patrolled by thousands of editors, and outright spelling and grammar errors are relatively rare.

I suspect your edits so far were made in good faith, but I'm afraid that if you continue to make changes that make articles worse, you may nevertheless be judged to be editing disruptively and banned from editing. TSP (talk) 14:38, 20 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Ondh kathe hella poster,december2018.jpeg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Ondh kathe hella poster,december2018.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello, Manasa cp18

Thank you for creating Shreyas Manju.

User:Rosguill, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

The Indian Express source puts this into WP:NEXIST range for me, but the article needs significant copy editing for neutrality (and could still use additional citations to more significant coverage)

To reply, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Rosguill}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ .
