==Please Use Edit Summaries==

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. Wikipediarules2221 20:30, 7 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

==Minor Edits== Please remember to mark your edits as minor when (and only when) they genuinely are minor edits (see Wikipedia:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one (and vice versa) is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting, and minor rearranging of text should be flagged as a 'minor edit'. Thanks! Sailor Moon articles

edit

Please stop removing information from Sailor Moon articles, changing the word 'friends' to other words, and inserting repeated, excessive references to Mamoru. When you do these things you are making the articles worse, not better. --Masamage 22:31, 7 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry about that, I didn't look at your message until later. I promise I won't edit the main page again. I tried changing everything back to normal. Please forgive me for my mistakes, they won't happen again. --MamoruDarienFan

Hi! Thank for your response. I'm sorry that I got so frustrated; I thought you were doing it on purpose. I shouldn't have made that assumption! Please don't feel chased off from editing things; just make sure that what you're saying isn't already there somewhere. ^_^ And try not to remove stuff without giving a reason; sometimes that's the right thing to do, but if we don't know why you're doing it the rest of us can get confused. Make sure to use edit summaries. :) And yes, you did the leaving-a-message thing just right (usually they go at the bottom of the page, but it was still easy to find). Sorry again that I was so sharp.
If you have any questions about editing stuff, feel free to ask! I've been at it for a while, so I can probably help. You can also take a look at the Sailor Moon WikiProject to look at our organizational efforts across all these articles. :) --Masamage 20:42, 8 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
