Thanks

I figure it's the least I can do to leave your message right here for you, rather than making you follow a talkback template! I've said it before, but I'm very grateful and humbled. I think that nomming anyone is a tremendous show of faith, but to offer and follow through based solely on one encounter, answers to a couple of editor review questions, and a contributions review? Well, that's an enormous show of faith. I mean, I think you're an excellent judge of character and all, but still… ;>)

Anyway, thanks again. Don't be shocked if you do find me knocking on your door with a question down the road and, please, consider this full license to swing an entire stream of trout upside my head if you ever see me doing something that's not according to Hoyle. WikiCup participates in the Wikipedia:The Great Wikipedia Dramaout

Hello all, iMatthew here. I just wanted to let you know about "The Great Wikipedia Dramaout" which starts this Saturday. The goal of the Dramaout is to spend five days working on improving articles and abstaining from any of Wikipedia's drama. I don't think that any of you will have a problem focusing on articles for five days, because of course, any work you get done during the Dramaout will count towards your score in the WikiCup. Details are on the page; hope to see you all signing up! :) iMatthew talk at 00:27, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Halo (megastructure) GAN

Thanks for the review. I've responded to your concern on the GAN page. --Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 15:38, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the speedy response. If you've got any GAN waiting in the backlog, I'd be happy to take a stab at reviewing it. --Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 16:39, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
Ah, righto. I'm drafting up comments as we speak, but I'd rather post everything at once and since I have to entertain company this weekend I'm not sure if I'll get to it immediately. You can look forward to something early next week. --Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 16:48, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

For future reference

RM's backlog notice is here. —harej (talk) (cool!) 02:26, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I applied it to WP:RM, but I don't think I invented the concept. —harej (talk) (cool!) 02:33, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Invitation to provide further input on desysop proposal

As someone who commented either for or against proposals here, I would like to invite you to comment further on the desysop process proposal and suggest amendments before I move the proposal into projectspace for wider scrutiny and a discussion on adoption. The other ideas proposed on the page were rejected, and if you are uninterested in commenting on the desysop proposal I understand of course. Thanks! → ROUX  04:29, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Khatri page....

Hey my mistake, please ignore that last post I placed on your page about Khatris. Please leave the page locked as long as possible as to avoid trouble makers making uncited changes. Thanks!

List of Grand Slam tennis champions

Greetings,

Regarding the dispute about the grand slam tennis champions lists, I'm quite disappointed that the list has been frozen in its current state...it does NOT reflect outside sources, only the POV of a single editor, Fyunck(click) who has been WP:OWNing these pages for several years.

I do note that many outside sources, from the Encyclopedia Britannica to ESPN to the World Almanac to the official Roland Garros website, ALL list winners of the French "Open" back to 1891, not 1925.

At the VERY least, Wiki policies require that the articles reflect a pluralist view, incorporating all major viewpoints. It is thus against Wiki policy to have names of winner DELETED. These people won many years ago, they are all dead. It is a shame to be disrespecting their existence, and the history of tennis, by deleting their names.

Regarding this dispute, I'm convinced that Fyunck(click) is 100% wrong and that if this were a court of law, he would lose. However, he has shown that his own POV is more important to him than Wiki consensus. Because he was lucky enough to have this frozen with HIS version of events, I'm sure that he has NO incentive whatsoever to compromise or resolve this dispute. Therefore, I am asking if you could revert to the version which reflects the outside sources, not a single editor's attempt to control this page.

Sincerely Robert Young Ryoung122 04:47, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

External links in articles

Hey, I remember that <excessive> external links are not to be embedded directly inside articles, is that correct? I'm asking because I was fixing up the HackThisSite article and saw that there were a lot of external links directly embedded within the article itself. Thanks! Netalarm 10:12, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
