Image copyright problem with File:ASCAR Engineer.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:ASCAR Engineer.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 14:32, 28 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:AndyMackieLewisMotorsport.jpg edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:AndyMackieLewisMotorsport.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sumanch (talk) 05:33, 12 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Welcome edit

Hello, Mackmot, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you created was Andy Mackie, which appears to be an article about yourself. This is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Proposed deletion of Andy Mackie edit

The article Andy Mackie has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Promotional (auto-)biography that has been unsourced since 2008. Notability not established.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. hi
i dont understand why my page is up for deletion when i look at any other sporting individual their page appears as a resume as well :!! i have links to many pages where it says i do not
please help me to improve it
andy
Andy, the reason your page is repeatedly up for deletion is because it is absolutely not allowed to use Wikipedia for self-promotion. We never add information about ourselves to Wikipedia. Others can't even add information about ourselves to Wikipedia either, unless we are notable, which you are not, and unless there are professionally published, reliable sources written elsewhere about us and cited here, which there are not. If you have further questions you are welcome to leave them below. As well, we would be interested in the names of the Wikipedia articles of other sporting individual whose pages appear as a resume, which you mention, unless you double-check and find that those individuals are notable and their pages here are written by other editors who properly cited them with reliable sources.
