Browser support in HTML5 video

I noticed that you switched Opera to say that it doesn't support HTML5 video in the browser support chart since the Linux release isn't finalized yet. While true since the 10.10 for Linux stable release doesn't support HTML5 video, this also means that Opera doesn't have a stable release on all platforms and therefore its support for HTML5 video and OGG Theora codec would be conditional too (i.e. it only works on Windows).

Thankfully we don't have to nitpick on that. Just recently the HTML5 video/audio document for Opera 10.50 was finalized, and we can tell with certainty that upon release of the Linux version it will support HTML5 video through Gstreamer. According to their dev post:

Opera 10.50 on Windows and Mac support the Ogg container format and the Theora and Vorbis codecs, as well as the WAVE container format and PCM codec. Opera 10.50 on Linux and FreeBSD supports the container formats and codecs that are installed in GStreamer on your system. Make sure the GStreamer "base" and "good" plugins are installed for video and Ogg/Theora/Vorbis to work in Opera.

It's just a matter of waiting for the finalized version of 10.50 to roll over to non-Windows platforms, but either way Opera 10.50 for Linux supports HTML5 video for OGG Theora ('base' and 'good' plugins are the only requirements and virtually all modern Linux distros have those) and maybe H.264, if the appropriate codecs for Gstreamer are installed.

That's all, cheers, --112.203.32.160 (talk) 09:10, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

Accelerator (Internet Explorer)

I have created the Accelerator (Internet Explorer) so that non-free images don't get deleted. It also seems like there is enough meat in the article so that it could be used to main article namespace. Hope you don't mind.Smallman12q (talk) 16:35, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Arena Release Timeline.png

A tag has been placed on File:Arena Release Timeline.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. mabdul 14:07, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
