Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen (M.a.Padmanabha Rao) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

There are two issues with this:

  1. It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization or adding links to its website.
  2. Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.

Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guidelines concerning editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. The article in question is M.A.Padmanabha Rao. Thank you.  Abhishek  Talk 14:57, 1 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please do not write an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. User page and List

edit

I've removed your name from List of Indian scientists; WP:NLIST says that people on lists must have references or an article to verify their importance. Furthermore, some lists, such as that one, raise the bar and require that the person have a Wikipedia article. Also, as you see above, I have nominated your user page for deletion. Its format is clearly trying to mimic a Wikipedia article, and its content is highly promotional. User pages can have some personal information, but are not to be used as a personal website or as a replacement for a deleted mainspace article. The discussion will run a week; I expect it very likely that the article will be deleted, so I strongly recommend that you copy the information off-site if you would like to maintain it on a personal blog or similar site. User's response

edit

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Miscellany_for_deletion/User:M.a.Padmanabha_Rao I wish to give a reply to the label 'Fake article' by Qwyrxian. The Editor with a nick name Qwyrxian first has deleted my name (M.A.Padmanabha Rao- made six fundamental physics discoveries including the discovery of Bharat Radiation) from the list of Indian scientists. In Wikipedia pages, I have clearly mentioned what are the actual fundamental physics discoveries claimed in my research paper published in Brazilian Journal of Physics, March 2010. The research work was presented in USA, Bulgaria, and Russia. The pages are intended to provide latest progress to fellow scientists in the subjects of nuclear, and X-ray physics, atomic spectroscopy and solar physics. Please provide feed back with proper name and address if any scientist of repute complains that these are fake discoveries. I feel the Editor mistook as fake since these discoveries are originated from India. Probably, in his opinion an Indian cannot do these discoveries. By deleting the contents, the Editor may do more harm to Wikipedia. If the Editor feels that this is a fake article, I will openly challenge him to prove that these are fake. As Editor, he has powers to delete any pages without any second thought. It may bring disgrace to the entire community of scientists. The founder of Wikipedia should make a note of it. My pages are there since long time. Why suddenly decided to delete? If Wikipedia wish to delete my pages under any circumstances, please go ahead and delete. I am not requesting to keep my pages, but labeling as Fake is a bad practice adopted by young Editors with nick name in Wikipedia. If Wikipedia cannot respect discoverers please do not insult. M.A.Padmanabha Rao, PhD (AIIMS)

The problem is that you are a bit confused. The page you are talking about is your user page. It is not an article in the encyclopedia. Your user page cannot pretend to be a Wikipedia article; it is to identify you as a Wikipedia editor. It can contain some personal information, but it cannot be formatted and stylized to appear to be a Wikipedia article. That's what I mean by "fake article"--I'm not saying that you or your discoveries are fake...what I'm saying is that your user page is being made to appear like an article in the encyclopedia, which we don't allow. Furthermore, it's not being "deleted without any second thought"; rather, there is a deletion discussion on going about the page (you can follow the link on your user page and comment there). Now, would it be possible for someone to create a Wikipedia article about you that would be allowed? Maybe. I don't think you quite meet the guidelines for academics, which you can read at WP:ACADEMIC, but you might. That is, just being a scientist with published discoveries isn't necessarily enough to have a Wikipedia article...but again, it's possible. However, such an article would really need to be created by someone else (not you), per WP:COI.
So please don't feel that I'm insulting you, or disrespecting you in any way. I have full belief in the quality and ability of Indian scientists as well. I'm simply trying to keep things sorted out per our rules: your userpage needs to be used to describe your purposes here on Wikipedia, and it can't be a way for you to make an article about yourself. You may meet our notability guidelines for an article in the encyclopedia, but someone other than you (or connected to you) should make that. Qwyrxian (talk) 05:33, 29 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
