However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Notre-Dame de Paris fire are for discussion related to improving the article in specific ways based on reliable sources and the project policies and guidelines, not for general discussion about the topic or unrelated topics, or statements based on your thoughts or feelings. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. There's no need to come down like a ton of bricks. Editiing others posts at the Teahouse

While I'm sure you meant well with edits like this, this, and this at the Wikipedia Teahose, editing the talk page posts of others is one of the fastest way to start having problems with other editors on Wikipedia. As explained in WP:TPO, you should really only edited another editor's talk page post when there's a really good policy-based or guideline based for doing so; correcting typos or WP:BOWDLERIZE is not something you should be trying to do at all when it comes to talk page posts. If there's a a word spelled incorrectly in a post that makes the meaning of the post hard to understand, then it's perfectly OK to point it out and ask for clarification, but you should leave the correcting of the post up to the editor who made the post. Similarly, if another editor uses profanity in a way that you personally find inappropriate, then you can point that out; you shouldn't, however, remove/replace the offensive term yourself unless it's a serious policy violation. Regardless, even if you think another post needs editing per relevant policy and guidelines, you should make 100% sure to leave an edit summary explaining why and make reference to the particular policy and guideline so that at least others no why the change was made. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:10, 16 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
