Wikipedia Interns for Libraries

edit

Hey Liz McCarthy. I saw that you were the social media director for the Bodleian. What a great library! When I was studying abroad in Oxford, I made extensive use of it. You might be interested in a new toolset that we are developing for Libraries and Archives to assign Wikipedia editing to interns: WP:TWL/I. We are looking to create a group of interns that can use the resource to follow up on all the best practices. Do you all at the Bodleian have an intern program that this would support well? Would you be interested in learning more? If so, it would be great if you sent me a user email, so that I can send you more information and/or answer any questions you have, Sadads (talk) 22:11, 16 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hey Sadads - Thanks for pointing it out. I'll take a look and let you know - it sounds interesting! Liz McCarthy (talk) 07:51, 17 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Contacting Editors from the Ada Lovelace Editathons

edit

Hi Liz,

I hope you don’t mind me contacting you via your talk page. I’m a new Editor to Wikipedia, part of a small research team based at the University of Birmingham in the UK. I’m getting in touch as we’re trying to contact all the Editors who were involved in the Ada Lovelace Editathons in Oxford or London. If you have been, or still are, involved in editing, whatever the scale of your involvement, we would be very grateful for the opportunity to talk to you about your experiences. In the first instance, we’ve set up a short (10 minute) survey, which you can access via my User Talk Pages. If you are interested in helping with our research project, please can you drop me a line?

Thanks, --RuthPage (talk) 16:02, 6 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi Liz, Thanks for your help and for completing the survey. I really appreciate it! We'll be in touch about chatting further.

Hi Liz,
Thanks again for getting in touch about our research project. Would you have time for a short chat by skype or phone, please? If so, can you let me know the best way to get in touch and arrange this please, by emailing me at r.e.page@bham.ac.uk? Thanks so much. --RuthPage (talk) 12:22, 23 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Photo of Irene Tracey?

edit

Hi Liz... I wonder if you might be able to help us source a photo of Irene Tracey for her article, please? If you have or control the rights to such a photo and could please upload it to Wikimedia Commons (using https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:UploadWizard), I (or someone else) can add it to the Wikipedia article for you. Thanks so much! 45154james (talk) 10:24, 6 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi- I've now published an image at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Oxford_Vice-Chancellor_Professor_Irene_Tracey.jpg. Please let me know if you're able to add it to the article - if you can't, I'll post on the talk page with the link. Many thanks! Liz McCarthy (talk) 14:55, 19 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks so much Liz. Great photo! Unfortunately, it needs to have the permission info sorted out before we can use it. If you look at the page https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Oxford_Vice-Chancellor_Professor_Irene_Tracey.jpg and scroll down, you'll see it's flagged as a problem. If you can fix the permission issue, we can add it to the article. Thanks again for your kind help. 45154james (talk) 09:52, 21 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! I saw and am just waiting to be sent a copy of the photographer's agreement - will hopefully upload early next week. Liz McCarthy (talk) 10:00, 21 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you Liz. I see this has now been approved - and I've added it to the article. Thank you very much for your help in sourcing this and sorting out all the bureaucracy. 45154james (talk) 18:38, 26 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi- thanks so much for working on the article! Let me see what I can get permissions for. I'll let you know when I've uploaded something. Liz McCarthy (talk) 04:06, 7 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
