License tagging for Image:BWHSII.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:BWHSII.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 03:04, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

NPOV dispute on Ivan Moravec page

edit

When you get a chance, can you take a look at the Ivan Moravec page re resolving your NPOV dispute?

I'm the person who origanally created the stub for the Ivan Moravec page, which Mr. Fedoruk then wrote some content that you have disputed. I've added some new content that I hope satisfies the WP neutrality guidelines. I also edited the discussion page to explain what's happened from my point of view.

WP policy discourages writers from simply removing the NPOV tag; instead, it encourages the parties to come to an agreement first. Seems to me the easiest place to work this out is in the Ivan Moravec discussion page, rather than here and in our individual User talk pages. If you agree, can you take a look at my response in the Ivan Moravec discussion page, and see we can come to an agreement there? I've posted a similar request on Dfedoruk's discussion page, so he can add his two cents.

Thanks, Denis Bradford

I notice that an editor recently deleted your musical analysis section. This editor deletes a lot of useful information from articles on musicals. Just thought I'd let you know in case you want to argue with him about it. -- Ssilvers 04:46, 1 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Chopin-Godowsky.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation.--Strangerer (Talk) 05:25, 25 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Bishop Walsh School

edit

Bishop Walsh School has been proposed for deletion. An editor felt the subject might not be notable enough for an article. Please review Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability for the relevant guidelines. If you can improve the article to address these concerns, please do so.

If no one objects to the deletion within five days by removing the "prod" notice, the article may be deleted without further discussion. If you remove the prod notice, the deletion process will stop, but if an editor is still not satisfied that the article meets Wikipedia guidelines, it may be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion for consensus. WikiProject Musical Theatre wants your help!

You are listed as either an active or an inactive participant of WikiProject Musical Theatre. This project has been dormant for a while, but we are very close to reaching consensus on several of the project's main documents (see the talk page for details). Once we get that business and formality out of the way, we are all free to attack the musical theatre articles of Wikipedia and have a wonderful Musical Theatre party! We want you to be a part of that!

So, come and join us! Add your input to the last few business items and then let's get this party started!
-- The WikiProject Musical Theatre team.
P.S. Invite your friends to join to! We need all the help we can get!

Volunteer opportunity in Bethesda, Thursday, July 16

edit

The Wikimedia Foundation will be conducting an all-day Academy at the National Institutes of Health, in Bethesda, Maryland, on Thursday, July 16. The team that will be teaching at the Academy, a mix of paid staff and volunteers, is looking for four more volunteers to be teaching assistants, providing one-to-one assistance in workshops whenever a workshop participant has a problem following the instructional directions. (We currently have two editors signed up as teaching assistants, and are looking for a total of six.)

The NIH editing workshops are only for two hours, but volunteers are asked to meet the Wikimedia Foundation team at the hotel in Bethesda at about 7:15 a.m. (time to be finalized shortly) and to stay for the entire day, which ends at 4:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided. (The full schedule can be found here.)

The team is not necessarily looking for expert editors (though they are welcome), just people who can help novices who might get stuck when trying to do some basic things. If you've been an editor for at least 3 months, and have done at least 500 edits, you probably qualify.

If you're interested, please send John Broughton an email. If you might be interested, but would like further information, please post a note on his user talk page, so that he can respond there, and others can see what was asked.

Teaching with Wikipedia Workshop at CMU (Aug 15)

edit

Since you are one of the editors in the Category:Wikipedians by alma mater: Duquesne University, I'd like to invite you to the Teaching with Wikipedia Workshop that will take place at CMU on Aug 15 (this workshop is open to general public, and is a joint imitative of CMU and Pitt). There will be another workshop held at Pitt in the Fall as well. It will cover how to include Wikipedia in one's course (WP:SUP) and also how to become a Wikipedia:Campus Ambassadors. Pennsylvania has currently only one ambassador (myself) and it would be great if we could recruit at least several more. Ambassadors help course instructors, showing them how Wikipedia works, and interact with students. Many current ambassadors come from the body of students, faculty and university staff; it is a fun adventure, and adds to one resume/CV, to boot :) If it sounds interesting, feel free to ask me any questions, or to come to the workshop.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 20:03, 9 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Notification of automated file description generation

edit

Your upload of File:Brad Barkley.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks!
