Welcome edit

Hello LakeHMM and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm glad you've chosen to join us. This is a great project with lots of dedicated people, which might seem intimidating at times, but don't let anything discourage you. Be bold!, explore, and contribute. If you want to learn more,

Wikipedia:Bootcamp teaches you the basics quickly,
Wikipedia:Tutorial is more in-depth, and
Wikipedia:Topical index is exhaustive.

Five Pillars of Wikipedia

Float around for awhile until you find something that tickles your fancy. One easy way to do this is to hit the random page button in the navigation bar to the left. There are also many great committees and groups that focus on particular jobs. My personal favorite stomping grounds are Wikipedia:Translation into English and Wikipedia:Cleanup for sloppy articles. Finally, the Wikimedia Foundation has several other wiki projects that you might enjoy.

There are a few crucial points to keep in mind when editing. Be civil with users, strive to maintain a neutral point of view, verify your information, and show good etiquette like signing your comments with four tildes like this: ~~~~ If you have any more questions, always feel free to ask me anything on my talk page or ask the true experts at Wikipedia:Help desk. Again, welcome! -- Draeco 07:02, 25 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Chinese templates edit

I thought I had. I did {{zh-cp}}, {{zh-sp}}, and {{zh-tp}}; what others are there? --Angr/talk 05:56, 31 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Response edit

That was two weeks ago; the matter is presently out of my hands. I suggest you wander over to Wikipedia:Userbox policy poll. Best wishes, Mackensen (talk) 00:27, 2 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject LGBT studies edit

Hello! I noticed that your userpage mentions that you are interested in LGBT issues. Would you be interested in joining WikiProject LGBT studies? The WikiProject's been a bit inactive recently and some of us are trying to get it going again. We'd love to have you on board! Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 21:18, 3 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Rebiya Kadeer edit

Actually, I got that spelling of Rebiya Kadeer's name by asking a friend of mine who knows Arabic and some Turkish languages. I can't read Arabic script at all. He told me there were suffixes on the names that weren't reflected in the Chinese versions. However, now that I look at it, the last character does look more like an "r" than an "n". I wonder where the spelling on zh.wikipedia comes from. There's got to be somebody around here who can read Arabic enough to give us another opinion.—Nat Krause(Talk!·What have I done?) 06:37, 5 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Okay, that squares it. You know way more about this than I or my previous informant do. I will leave it in your capable hands.—Nat Krause(Talk!·What have I done?) 22:39, 5 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Edit by an IP edit

Hi there, I reverted the edit as it was not properly referenced so there was no guarntee that this was reliable for any readers (per wikipedia policy), if it had been properly referenced then it would have been OK. I didn't revert it because I didn't agree with it - just for the reason above. Thanks and happy editng.TellyaddictEditor review! 16:01, 5 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Category:Language User Templates edit

Your userpage is not a LUT so please take it out of this category. -23PatPeter* 21:29, 12 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes, thank you very much for looking into that, this is a pressing matter in the LUT world as one or two userboxes are causing a number of userpages to be placed in the category. I thought that by messaging you we could find it but it is another dead end. Thank you again though. -23PatPeter* 21:59, 12 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Haha! I found it my friend it was User:Sony-youth/hiberno-english! -23PatPeter* 22:14, 12 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
