Proposed deletion of Sidney Armus

The article Sidney Armus has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not a notable actor and no notable sources

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Copying content

Hi, Kks862003. I was looking at the copyright issues flagged in List of The Real Housewives of New York City episodes, and while the content that especially worries me was added later, I looked back at the earliest edits to the article and noticed material like this:

The highly anticipated third season of the Real Housewives of New York City is back and everyone's favorite big-apple ladies are spending their remaining summer days together in the Hamptons. However, friendships and alliances have shifted significantly. What happens when a fun day on Ramona's friend's yacht with the ladies turns sour, leaving Ramona in tears? And Jill shares that she is angry with Bethenny and that the two haven't spoken in months. Meanwhile, after having spent the summer falling in love, Bethenny has the opportunity of a lifetime, posing nude in a photo shoot for PETA.

This sounds very much like something that might have been published in official promotional text. Also, while you created the article on 1 May 2011, there were plot descriptions for episodes that had not yet aired, like "The ladies bask at a mask bash when Sonja hosts a masquerade ball. In addition, Cindy goes to the dentist with Jill in tow, but Jill adds some bite by offering way too much input. And Ramona throws a wine party, but gossip spills over." for the episode to air on May 12. Since the episode did not air until May 12th, it's obvious that you could not have written that description from watching the show. My fear, again, is that it was copied from an online promotional source.

I see two ways that this content might have made it into this article. First, there is the possibility that you might have copied it, or some of it, from outside of Wikipedia. We can't generally do this, and plot descriptions are not an exception. Please see Wikipedia:Copy-paste. Except for brief and clearly marked quotations, we can't copy content from other sources unless we can prove that they are public domain or compatibly licensed. Doing so creates copyright problems in the article.

There's also a good chance that you didn't copy it from outside of Wikipedia, but copied it from inside of Wikipedia instead. In that case, obviously, you would not be responsible for the text copied from other websites, but unfortunately it is also a violation of our copyright policy to copy content from one article to another without giving credit to the people who wrote it. Content on our websites is not public domain, any more than most other content is. It is licensed for reuse, but the license requires credit. Please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia for how this credit is given.

If you have copied content from one article to another on Wikipedia before without giving credit, please try to fix that, so that the content is not a copyright issue. If you have been copying plot descriptions to Wikipedia from other websites, please try to go back and remove this. Either way, please be conscious of copyright issues going forward.

Thanks. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:51, 2 November 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Sølvtrans

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sølvtrans requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. ► Philg88 ◄ talk 10:43, 5 April 2014 (UTC)

PSI

I hate to say this to someone who has been around as long as you have, but can I suggest looking at WP:CORP and WP:RS? Lists of customers don't provide evidence of notability, and nor does being listed on a stock exchange necessarily make a company notable. I remember an article about a company whose products were in millions of houses in the USA. But almost no-one had heard of them. They made own-brand goods for chain stores. The company's name was on nothing they produced. PSI looks to be a supplier of stuff that is widely used but not noticed. In the UK, we have loads of yellow flashing beacons at pedestrian crossings. People see them every day, and use them to cross roads safely. Who makes them? Obviously, the authorities that buy them know, but who else knows or cares? It's the coverage that counts here, not the numbers. Peridon (talk) 14:19, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Zalaris

The article Zalaris has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NCORP, WP:SIRS. Routine references don't support the article. While the company is listed, with the assumption that it is automatically notable, references must support it that WP:V and WP:SIRS, not press-releases and profiles. Wikipedia is automatic list service.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. scope_creepTalk 09:54, 19 July 2023 (UTC)
