Speedy deletion nomination of Samuel Fairgood edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Samuel Fairgood, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Draft:Samuel Fairgood edit

Hi, since the article had many issues, so we can not have it in the main space. And you removed speedy deletion tags twice and put "article in process" in the edit summary. So, I have moved the article to the Draft here - Draft:Samuel Fairgood where you can continue to edit it and once it's ready in accordance to the wikipedia policy Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons, you can move the same to the main space or tell me at my talk page. I will do so. Thanks Peppy Paneer (talk) 15:23, 13 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Deletion request edit

I went ahead and fixed your deletion request for User:Kingsamhippy/sandbox. It will be deleted shortly. Safiel (talk) 16:20, 13 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Samuel Fairgood edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Samuel Fairgood requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Self promotion vs. useful contributions edit

Dear Kingsamhippy, I've seen that you've created Draft:Outreach Music Group in addition to Draft:Samuel Fairgood. Put bluntly: both of these drafts appear to be self-promotion. Wikipedia is not a platform for self-promotion. It is a historical encyclopedia, of subjects that have already happened, and which retrospectively have been written about and so are notable. These drafts will eventually be deleted, so I would like to encourage you to put your editing/contributing effort in to material that is likely to be around for a long time.

I am presuming that you are close to one/both of these article subjects, both of which appear to be related to Hip hop (please correct me I'm wrong). If that is the case, it islikely that you probably have expertise in the field of the Hip hop/rap, which means that your energy and expertise would be very welcome on existing articles in that genre. This would allow sharing of the knowledge you already have, and the knowledge sources you already know of (the "citation sources" we use for writing about subjects). These would be useful, long-term contributions that would be around for a long time.

Could I encourage you to work in that direction instead? —Sladen (talk) 14:12, 14 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Sladen (talk) yes you are correct Outreach Music Group is a Independent label genre in hiphop that reflect on spreading 100% real music compared to most mainstream label that spread garbage music. We have gained feedback from people who listen to hiphop and are growing fast on social media everyday. We are similar to Independent Labels such as Funk Volume, Strange Music and Reach Records who have articles on Wikipedia. That will be awesome if you can help me in that direction.
Kingsamhippy (talk) 17:40, 14 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
Kingsamhippy, Reach Records appears to have been founded c.1999 (sixteen years ago), Strange Music in c.2004 (eleven years ago), and Funk Volume c.2009 (six years ago)—the last one, Funk Volume is pretty border-line and thin on the ground for meeting the necessary criteria of notability and available reliable citations. Going by those examples of years vs. notability maybe that in roughly 5–10 years there might be enough material for a new entity to reach the criteria for having a Wikipedia article. In the mean-time, Wikipedia is for recording notable subjects that are already notable. Wikipedia is not for trying to accelerate a quest for notability of an entity. Twitter, Linkedin, Facebook, press-coverage and word-of-mouth all exist for promotion. But none of those are an encyclopedia, and this is the important distinction. —Sladen (talk) 18:32, 14 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
Sladen (talk) So right now I don't have enough meterial to put Outreach Music group on Wikipedia?
Kingsamhippy (talk) 19:05, 14 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
That is correct. However, your expertise on the genre is likely to be valuable to Wikipedia's readers and you would be welcomed to contribute some of that knowledge. Perhaps start at Portal:Hip hop and WP:WikiProject Hip hop which have links to the huge numbers of articles on the subject, all of which could welcome appropriate input and expansion (edits must maintain a neutral, see WP:NPOV). Happy editing, and let myself or another editor if you get stuck! —Sladen (talk) 20:33, 14 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
Sladen (talk) Thank you soooo much for your help and understanding. you have been a AMAZING help and I will let you know if I need any help but, I'm pretty sure I am and I'm going to read WP:NPOV) too. Thank you agmain. Have a great evenin!

Sladen (talk) Did my account get deleted? My name is in red and when trying to add my name in thePortal:Hip hop it show up in red.
Kingsamhippy (talk) 22:38, 14 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
Kingsamhippy, This page we're on now is your User talk:Kingsamhippy (Talk) page used for discussion, but your user page itself (at User:Kingsamhippy) has not been created. If you go to the User:Kingsamhippy, click edit and write something, plus save it, then your user page will have been created. All the links (everywhere) will then suddenly change from red to blue. —Sladen (talk) 22:43, 14 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
Sladen (talk) what do I write about and thank you so much again!
Kingsamhippy (talk) 14:51, 15 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
Kingsamhippy, what you put on User:Kingsamhippy is [*almost] entirely up to you. Some people like to say a couple of words about themselves, some editors prefer to stay anonymous and intentionally not give personal details away. You can click on the user pages of various editors you've interacted with so far and have a quick look, and WP:UPYES has some ideas. I personally don't know much about you, but if you're still really stuck, you could perhaps try something like (at a guess) "Hello I'm Kingsamhippy. My background is in the popular music industry and my interests include post-2000s North-American [[Hip Hop]]." and you can always add/expand it later on if/when you feel appropriate. —Sladen (talk) 16:11, 15 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Sladen (talk OK. Thank you Soo much again, I:m going to use what you said and expend it when I think if idea. You have been a BIG help I appreciate that. Kingsamhippy (talk) 17:54, 15 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
