Knipe Point

edit

Nice start but before someone comes along and proposes it for deletion, you could do with establishing notability of the estate. While settlements such as villages and bigger are inherently notable, the same doesn't necessarily apply to estates and you should try and show why this should be included in an article on Cayton. NtheP (talk) 12:15, 18 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Currently trying to find more external sources to link to explaining why this estate hit the headlines in 2008. I'm a bit of a slow-coach. (Katefrompoland (talk) 12:28, 18 August 2010 (UTC)) Katefrompoland (talk) 12:28, 18 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

OK but beware that deletion for lack of notability can strike speedily! You might want to move the article to your userspace e.g. User:Katefrompoland/Knipe Point and work on it there free from possible deletion, then move it back to mainspace when it's complete. If you don't have move rights let me know and I can move it for you. NtheP (talk) 12:37, 18 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I think the move worked. It now appears in a tab called "user page". Katefrompoland (talk) 12:52, 18 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

It should be ok there. NtheP (talk) 13:04, 18 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks.Katefrompoland (talk) 13:23, 18 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hello, that's the bones of the article now. There will be a bit more beef in the "landslide section" and I have dozens of links to press articles to add still. It won't make it much longer though.

Do you think this is now substantial enough to stand alone? Or should I incorporate it into the Cayton Bay article? I believe it to be notable on its own due to the landslide and media controversy surrounding it. My reluctance to put it into the Cayton Bay article is due to the fact that it will double the length of that page. Katefrompoland (talk) 15:44, 18 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I think it will stand on it's own but I think it needs some changes. The notability is that it was the first TU holiday camp and it should start with that, more on the history of the holiday camp and then it becoming a provate estate and the landslip. NtheP (talk) 16:02, 18 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

OK, will make suggested changes. Thanks. Katefrompoland (talk) 11:59, 19 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi, would changing the article title to "Knipe Point Landslide" make it more notable? I find I have a lot more material about the landslide. The history is still interesting but there isn't that much of it online to reference to. Katefrompoland (talk) 17:01, 25 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Knipe Point.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Knipe Point.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 06:54, 13 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
