Ecowomanism

edit

Ecowomanism is an interdisciplinary approach that pays attention and engages womanist religious thought and uses a womanist methodological lens to illuminate how important African and African American women’s voices are to the work of environmental justice.

Harris Melanin L. maintains that the ecowomanism is interdisciplinary it is made up of other disciplines such as religion, culture, ethics, literature, sociology, geography, critical race theory, and feminist and womanist with the sole purpose of voicing the African and African Women experiences in the midst of the climate change that adversely affect them. Ecowomanism is also said to be an interdisciplinary approach that is well informed or born from a liberationist theological framework.[1]
