Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Jxxt. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Ahlstrom-Munksjö, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Longhair\talk 08:24, 14 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

You note here that you are editing as part of your employment. [1] Given that, you will need to do two things. First, you must make the mandatory disclosures for paid editors before you make any more edits at all. If your next edit is to do anything but that (or request help in how to do so), you will be blocked from editing. Secondly, paid editors must follow our conflict of interest guidelines. Chiefly, you must avoid directly editing articles for which you have a COI. Instead, make suggestions on the article talk page, then add the text {{request edit}} so that someone without a conflict of interest may review your edit. Please ensure to do both of these. Please see the information at Template:UserboxCOI. I assume the editor above is requesting you add this template to your userpage. -- Longhair\talk 06:46, 15 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your help. These are new things for me, so I'm still learning :) Now I should have the information about my conflict of interest both on the Ahlstrom-Munksjö article page and on my own page. I have also added all the new edits as proposed edits on the talk page of the article. And I suppose someone will check them at some point, right?
All looks good to me. @Seraphimblade:, do you have any further concerns? -- Longhair\talk 07:07, 15 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
Nope, looks fine. Thank you for doing those. Seraphimblade Talk to me 11:57, 15 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
