G'day

G'day,

I noticed that you mentioned that you're associated with Trinity Christian School, Canberra. Be very very careful of WP:COI when you're editing that page. Not saying that there's a problem, you seem to be doing a good job... Just suggesting that you take care because that edit summary drew my attention.

As it seems you're someone who is interested in schools, can I invite you to join WP:EIA and WP:WPSCH? ˜danjel [ talk | contribs ] 06:06, 17 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the info - I'm still learning how to use Wikipedia and starting with a school I know something about. I hadn't found the request edit template and should have used that particularly for that edit. As time permits I'd be interested in editing other schools I know about, but I'm not sure I'll be active enough to make joining one of the groups at this time. You don't have to be too active... I'm fairly inactive (<4000 edits in 6 years or so) because I have other things in my life: wife, baby-on-the-way, the 27 students in my class, Xbox, my principal, sleep, etc. (in order of relative importance).
The main point is to be aware of and be sure to make your input in decisions regarding school articles guidelines (WP:WPSCH/AG) among other issues. It's also a good place to get help on school issues (of course, you're welcome to ask me, but sometimes I might be slow to reply). If you WP:WATCHLIST school articles by clicking the little star up on the top right next to the Search box then you can help us stay on top of vandalism. If you could keep an eye on ACT schools (I'm assuming you're in the ACT?) then that shouldn't be too much to do.
I'm also keen on working up ideas for school students to work on wikipedia, so... Yeah. Any time you want to talk about that. :) ˜danjel [ talk | contribs ] 07:35, 17 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, more than happy to add the ACT/Queanbeyan schools to my watchlist. Might have to check my settings though - it didn't email me when you updated the TCS one.
Will do some more reading up on WP:WPSCH/AG etc. Cheers for the helpful starting pointers! JustOneNonly (talk) 08:04, 17 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
