NY 52
First, I'm flattered, despite all the accolades road articles I've worked on have gotten, that you want to help develop this one to GA. Since I live a block away from it (I can move the chair I'm sitting in right now, twist my head a bit, look out the window and see this bridge, and walk to it and back in less than a minute), and it figures in some of my current commutes, it would make me very happy to do so.
What problems exactly in the lead are you referring to? What's the "strict way of writing them without using them as the subject"? Do you mean subject of the sentence or the article? I think you mean the former ... I notice you've added the "NY" to a couple of second refs; I guess that's fine although I remember in one recent PA route FAC (was it yours? I can't remember which one) someone from outside the roads projects complained about the repetitive overuse of that designation, seeming to feel as I do that in most instances the route number alone usually suffices on second references and the repetitive use of "Route X" tires the reader after a while (that's why I mix it up in my route descriptions ... one of the open secrets of effective writing is knowing how to find different ways to refer to the same thing when you have to repeatedly ... no reporter works for long without being able to do this). Please let me know — I'd be delighted to help improve this, although finding good refs for the history section is something I keep putting off because it means going through maps and historical archives from five different counties, and I just haven't had the time for something that I can't put too high on my real-life priority list. OK. Knock yourself out with route description sourcing (although I've always felt that highway route descriptions are pretty easy to verify, at least the self-evident aspects, by simply having someone else drive down it, with photos where possible to document any of the more extraordinary claims that can be so documented) and should probably be treated as requiring no footnotes. (I mean, most maps aren't going to tell you, or be able to tell you, that Route X widens to four lanes with a middle turn lane a half-mile east of the Podunk Municipal Airport, and there's only so many pictures you can put in an article and only so many things you can document with the pictures). But anything you can do along those lines helps in an FAC, I know.
As for history, I may be in a better position to source this locally. Very little in the road history department can be sourced online outside of roadfan sites (which we have trouble always getting accepted as reliable sources, I know). I will have to write to or visit libraries, public historians and NYSDOT regions 8 and 9 to see what they can share as far as archival material. But there should be a lot. I do know, from what I know and can document of local history, about the Newburgh-Ellenville Turnpike that built what became that stretch of 52 back in 1851 (and, like all the other old turnpikes, didn't make money, allowing the state to retake an improved road not long afterwards). The person you were having so much trouble with in the PA 145 nom had a point, even though I don't think they quite got it across the right way: You can't limit your research for articles to online sources. Especially on something like this. You would probably have been able to find what they were looking for in old newspaper clippings about the construction of the expressway (the downside of so much current and recent material being available online is that very little pre-late 1990s newspaper articles are, outside of major papers like the Times and Washington Post which can afford to digitize and store them. For New Coke, the first article I ever got to GA, I have relied on at least three books which aren't available online, and a few old newspaper and magazine articles that are only on microfilm.
So, I can probably get sources for the history. But it will take some legwork on my end. Daniel Case 03:50, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

PA 39
I've looked at the 1911 map. I haven't found LR 39 if it exists. However, I have found that LR 140 overlapped part of what became PA 39 between Linglestown and Piketown Road, which became the decommissioned SR 39/896 concurrency as seen in the intersections list. This is certainly noteworthy, I just don't know where to put it in the article, since 140 existed before PA 39 or PA 896 existed. I would think that it could be mentioned under the context of the background of PA 39 before it was established. July 2007 GAC backlog elimination drive

I noticed how you're like really well verse in how this site operates. Since, I'm fairly new to this stuff...I was wondering if you could give me some useful links as to where I could find Wikipedia Tags, and a more comprehensive CheatSheet for code...like info boxes, etc
By tags I mean like "Speedy Deletetion" etc...

I noticed you reverted this revision to the Home Run Derby article where I expanded the "most wins by team" table to include every team that participated and how many contestants they've sent to the competition. There was no explanation given why it was reverted; I noticed you also reverted the three vandalism edits that succeeded my edit and I wondered if mine just got caught up by mistake. Whether it was that or a legitimate reason, I'd appreciate some feedback, as I personally think this is a useful addition (as well as, perhaps, the number of home runs hit by each team in the derby).
