Pages tag

I have been watching that you are tagging {{refimprove}} tag in some new pages as reviewer. But if you actually see then you'd find that the sources provided covers almost all, while I don't believe the tag is unnecessary. If you find there's sources like Banglapedia on your recent changes on Gachua Union. That covers all the necessary information provided in the page. I don't think that other sources cover much. Please review one again and don't tag unnecessarily. Thanks. A. Shohag 15:44, 5 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi ShohagS. If you look at the article Gachua Union, the sections "Location and boundaries", "Administrative structure", "Communication system", "Public representative" (except for Mohammad Shamsuddin) and "Primary Schools" with "Educational Institutions" are unreferenced. The {{refimprove}} tag is therefore justified. If the other references on the page cover these sections then that needs to be indicated within these sections. Regards --John B123 (talk) 16:07, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
I have updated the Gachua Union, maybe not inline citation but with in section citation. And I'd like say you one more thing. The tag you added on Belayet Hossain doesn't truly requires. Reason is if you see the footnote section you will find that the whole article is an translations which does not require any addition citation while It satisfies all with the first reference. Please take time to review perfectly. Thanks. A. Shohag 04:54, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
Hi ShohagS. Gachua Union looks a lot better now. I've removed the tags and marked it a reviewed. I note the original bn:বেলায়েত হোসেন has been much edited since the original was created from [1] and other content added. As such, the article needs inline citations to diferentiate between the original copied content and later additions. It should not be up to the reader to try and work out what was from Rashedur Rahman's article and what was from other sources.
On a side note, you have attributed your translation from the bn article in your edit summary, which is good. We normally add a translate page template (eg {{translated page|bn|বেলায়েত হোসেন}} ) on the talk page if the article has been translated. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 07:48, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
Recent version of bn:বেলায়েত হোসেন actually satisfied from The Daily Prothom ALo source. It's maybe because the ticket released after the publication. Also I have updated information and citation from your previously reviewed pages of mine. From some of them, I removed those tags. Review them once again Shilmuri South Union, Gangachara Adarsha High School, Shilmuri North Union, Shiva temple of stone. I will update the others too and will let you know. A. Shohag 10:53, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
Hi ShohagS. Those four all look fine for references now. I've marked them as reviewed and removed the tags where necessary. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 12:32, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
Thanks again. But let me see how do your recommendation go for these. Kushtia Government College, Singair Degree College, Rokomari.com, Fatikchhari Girls Pailot High School, Haripur Dimukhi Girls High school, Dantmara A.B.Z Sikder High School, Shakpur Union, Secondary Education Quality and Access Enhancement Project, Facebook Messenger Rooms. A. Shohag 15:28, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
Hi ShohagS. Generally they look ok. A couple rely on a single source. Whilst a page can all be referenced to a single source, multiple sources are preferred. Regards --John B123 (talk) 16:04, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
Thanks, But It's really hard for those to find more sources. Take a look at this two. Galimpur Union, Aganagar Union. And someone requested deletion for this one, Mukteshwari Degree College, Monirampur. Tell me your opinion. A. Shohag 14:24, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
Also check this one Fatehpur Inscription, and the rough conversation here. A. Shohag 14:45, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
Hi ShohagS. I've marked Galimpur Union and Aganagar Union as reviewed, also commented out the empty sections to avoid adding multiple {{Empty section}} tags to the pages.
Degree issuing establishments are generally considered as notable providing there are sufficient reliable sources available to confirm this. However, there seems to be a lack of sources for Mukteshwari Degree College, Monirampur. The same applies to archaeological sites, but again Fatehpur Inscription has few sources to confirm.
On a general note, if an article is moved to Draft, the article should be worked on and issues resolved before moving back to mainspace, not the other way round. Also, if you submit an article for AfD review then the article needs to stay in draft until the review is complete. Regards --John B123 (talk) 15:11, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
Thanks again, its unfortunate that I can only make sure that Fatehpur Inscription exists. But there's truly nothing came up for it to show up. I reverted because I knew that I can only add sources not text. So, in other word, there's really nothing to work on Fatehpur Inscription. And The government site under development, So for Mukteshwari Degree College, Monirampur, I am unable to provide source, also the previous sources in bnwiki is dead. That's how I am stuck.
And yeah, I gotta admit you are quite active user. A. Shohag 04:16, 9 August 2020 (UTC)

Hello, again. Did I mean to disturb you? But I was expecting a reply from you. However, People like Belayet Hossain is Lilu Mia, and also the article contain translation of The Daily Prothom Alo article. Someone added {{Peacock}} tag there. I removed it. Please, I would like get any suggestion from you. Thanks. A. Shohag 14:41, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi again ShohagS. I think the peacock tag probably came from the use of "heroic" in the first sentence, which I've removed. I've marked the article as reviewed, but as the English in it is not very good I've added a {{copyedit}} tag. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 15:13, 12 August 2020 (UTC)
So, the {{copyedit}} tag means it uses bad english?! Alright, I will try to change some terms. And will you please explain what those two tag says? A. Shohag (pingme||Talk) 04:22, 13 August 2020 (UTC)

Hello there! I didn't it find necessary to add a new conversation. Its almost 11 days since Liaquat Ali Khan (Bir Uttom) was created, but It's unfortunate that it's still not reviewed. I know only one active patroller, somehow he even missed that. Anyway waiting for your suggestion. And by the way, you owe me an explanation. Thanks. ~ A. Shohag (pingme||Talk) 15:33, 25 August 2020 (UTC)

There is currently a backlog of over 9,000 articles to be reviewed plus around 5,000 new articles are being created every week. All the new page patrollers are volunteers so it cannot be assumed or expected that pages are reviewed within a given time. Liaquat Ali Khan (Bir Uttom) hasn't been added to any categories. What do I owe you an explanation for? --John B123 (talk) 16:28, 25 August 2020 (UTC)

This is really a big count. Then why don't the admins add some more patrollers based on the users activity? I mean this would a bit tough but can work out. And forget about the explanation, I read the documentations. Thank you. ~ A. Shohag (pingme||Talk) 05:12, 26 August 2020 (UTC)

Mongolian Cabinet

You draftified the Mongolian Cabinet page with the statement that it was undersourced, because that is what the tool does, and with no references it was undersourced. It also didn't have any text. It is only an infobox. I think that the author may have submitted it to review by accident. In any case, it is in draft space and they can add text, which should at a minimum be a list of the names of the ministers, and sources. Robert McClenon (talk) 17:29, 7 August 2020 (UTC)

New Article Shamsher Singh journalist

Hello John B123,
I have created another requested article Shamsher Singh (Indian Journalist). I hope you will review it also.
Thanks for your support.YashPratap1912(CONT.) 08:56, 8 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi YashPratap1912. I note you have added a conflict of interest tag to the article. If you have a connection to the subject you must add the {{connected contributor}} template to the talk page. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 09:12, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
Hi John B123, I have added the conflict of interest tag, but I was not paid for it, so I didn't add the connected contributor tag. I hope you will review it! Thanks--YashPratap1912(CONT.) 10:01, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for adding the correct tag! YashPratap1912(CONT.) 10:16, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
Hi YashPratap1912. {{Connected contributor}} should be used for unpaid connections, {{Connected contributor (paid)}} is for paid editing. Regards --John B123 (talk) 10:19, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
Hi YashPratap1912. I've reviewed the page. On a side note, __INDEX__ is virtually obsolete. All mainspace articles are indexed once they have been reviewed. Regards --John B123 (talk) 10:25, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
Oh, I feel like a big stupid boy. I am really sorry for adding the wrong tag. I will make sure that I never repeat this mistake again. By the way, the description of the connected contributor tag says that it is for paid editors. Thank you for reviewing the article so quickly and your response is really prompt. Another barnstar coming at you. Please just reply on my talk page to tell me which one do you want. Thanks again. Waiting for your reply -YashPratap1912(CONT.) 10:29, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
Hi YashPratap1912. That's very kind of you, but not necessary. As you are giving the award, I'll leave the choice to you. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 10:38, 8 August 2020 (UTC)

Eldaring

Thanks, but I only created the redirect. I don't know if your automated tool pinged the creator, Ffranc. Drmies (talk) 20:03, 8 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi Drmies. What notification did you receive? Regards --John B123 (talk) 20:10, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
Some ping that you had suggested improvements to the page. Ha, I had to think really hard but the question was answered when I clicked on the history. There may be an AfD behind it, I didn't check. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 20:11, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
@Drmies: I wasn't aware the Page Curation tool sent out messages like that. There is an option to send the page creator a message, but I didn't use that. In any case that is a talk page message rather than a ping. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 20:21, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
Sure thing. Thanks! Drmies (talk) 21:38, 8 August 2020 (UTC)

Mr John B123 I recently noticed that you have edited the article" Theckumchery Mana " Thanks for that . Now please add it to a category related to

  • Kerala
  • India
  • Namboothiri Brahmin
  • Maithili
  • Varrikkasseri Mana example

If you do it I would be very thankful. Mechangkara (talk) 10:22, 9 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi Mechangkara. Sorry I don't really known enough about the subject to add appropriate categories. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 11:15, 9 August 2020 (UTC)

Martin Repiský

You draftified this article. Did you think that the article failed verification because there was inadequate evidence that he has played professionally, or did you have a question about whether the team that he plays for is fully professional?

Another copy of the BLP has been created, and we need to figure out whether the article should be in article space or needs to go to AFD. Robert McClenon (talk) 17:39, 9 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi Robert McClenon. I draftified the article because it didn't have any references at that time.[2]. I think the article just meets WP:NSOCCER as Repiský has played one match for FK Pohronie, which is in Slovak Super Liga, an accepted professional league as per Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Fully professional leagues. If it were possible I would apply sanctions against editors who submit articles for AfC review and then move/copy them to mainspace before they are reviewed, but unfortunately there is no mechanism to do this! Regards. --John B123 (talk) 17:53, 9 August 2020 (UTC)

Parlement (television series)

Hi. You were very quick to unpublish the page I created earlier this evening about a French/German/Belgian TV series. Is it because you had never heard of it? I included a link to the official page with the original version, and I have now added links to several English-language sources that I hope will convince you that it's a real thing, and known in the English-speaking world. If those references are not in the right place, or correctly formatted, please help me to place them in a more appropriate place in the text and to make the syntax better. Thanks. Páraic Maguire 21:49, 11 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi Pmaguire. It'a a fundamental requirement that all articles should be referenced. I hadn't heard of the series before, but that's immaterial; I review many new articles that I haven't heard of before, but I can verify them from the references. It's standard practice to send them to draft if they have no references.
I've formatted the references and added a reference section. I've also changed the reference for the cast as IMDb is not considered a reliable source. As I am not an AfC reviewer and you have submitted it for AfC review, it would be inappropriate for me to interfere with that process. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 22:34, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for your help with the formatting, and adding a better reference for the cast.
I submitted the article for review as I thought that was the procedure having added the required sources. Should I have done it some other way? Páraic Maguire 15:49, 12 August 2020 (UTC)
Hi Páraic. That's the correct procedure but some people expect me to jump in and review/move to mainspace rather than going through the AfC review. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 15:59, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

Fabio zamblera

Woul you be able to remove the creation block on Fabio Zamblera so I can move Fabio zamblera into it? Thanks, Das osmnezz (talk) 21:51, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi Das osmnezz. I'm afraid I don't have the permissions to do that which is why I added the requested move request on the talk page. Regards --John B123 (talk) 21:54, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

Another Request

Hi John

Hope you are great. you have reviewed my pages before so i decided to contact you again, can i request you to check two pages. Draft:Nick Wrennand Draft:Misbah Mumtaz

ThanksMemon KutianaWala (talk) 08:55, 14 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi Memon KutianaWala. The articles look ok, but they may be close to the borderline of Wikipedia:Notability (people). I notice you have submitted them for AfC review. As I'm not an AfC reviewer I can't get involved in that process. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 14:56, 14 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi John B123

Thanks for the response i have deleted the draft with the help of admin and moved the page to article space, hope you will review now. Misbah Mumtaz

Thanks Memon KutianaWala (talk) 08:21, 18 August 2020 (UTC)

@Memon KutianaWala: I am disappointed that you asked me, Lapablo and at WP:AFCHD the same question and although everybody has told you the same, wait for the AfC review to process, you have chosen to ignore all this and tried and circumvent the AfD process. It is a waste of everybody's time answering your queries if you ignore the answer if it's not what you want to hear. (see also WP:FORUMSHOPPING). The AfC reviewers are all volunteers, to complain that your draft articles are not being reviewed as quickly as you would like seems, in my eyes, to be highly disrespectful to those who are giving their time to help others.
As I previously told you, I had doubts over the notability of Misbah Mumtaz. I am not an expert on WP:NMODEL, but had hoped the AfC reviewer would be, or if not they could have taken advice from one of their colleges. As you have bypassed this process, I have to send the article to WP:AfD to gain a consensus over notability. --John B123 (talk) 15:39, 18 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi John B123

I am very disapointed with your tag,if you look closely to the pakistani models category you will 70 pages with 3 references or more with dead links but they have Wikipedia page, anyways the lady is notable and if any Pakistan editors look into that page he will accept it, i have added the newspaper links too in reference they are top pakistani newspaper talking about her. The reason to make her page was because she is first pakistani model from a northern areas of Pakistan and that is enough for a person to gain notability (says Dawn and Tribune aswell as The Nation).

Speedy deletion nomination of Mughal biradri

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Mughal biradri requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. ―Susmuffin Talk 14:56, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

@Susmuffin: - No idea why you are tagging for speedy deletion a redirect that has already been tagged for speedy deletion? --John B123 (talk) 15:01, 15 August 2020 (UTC)
You were slightly quicker than I was. ―Susmuffin Talk 15:14, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

Paralives

Hi! Considering I accepted the draft after doing some work of my own as well, I'd like to discuss the notability tag you've put on Paralives. It would be appreciated if you could explain why, or mention what is needed to resolve the issue (I think it does pass WP:GNG with cited sources). Regards, Jovanmilic97 (talk) 16:30, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi Jovanmilic97. I'm not sure there is anything to make this more notable than any number of as yet unreleased titles? A great part of the references given are based on what Massé promises rather than say a reviewers opinion of a demo version of the game. Regards --John B123 (talk) 17:06, 15 August 2020 (UTC)
I get what you mean, but I believe there is an in-depth coverage of the development of the game rather than its gameplay for now (there are a lot of upcoming games articles on [3] and 2020/2021 subcategories). If you agree though, I could move the article back to the draftspace and leave it there for incubation until more info comes out in the future. Jovanmilic97 (talk) 18:20, 15 August 2020 (UTC)
Hi Jovanmilic97. I think the notability is marginal rather than falling well short of WP:NVIDEOGAMES, so I'd be inclined to leave it where it is and update when other sources are available. In mainspace there's a possibility that other editors will help with the article whereas it's unlikely in draft. Regards --John B123 (talk) 19:56, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

Frederic Godart

Hi John, thank you for reviewing the article about Frédéric Godart. I added a few more sources and references, but will add more as soon as I can free up some time. In the meantime, would you mind helping me to reduce the promotional character of the article? I am not sure which part in particular makes it sound like an advertising as I mainly followed the templates of existing researchers such as Ashley Mears. Any directives would be of great help. Have a great day. ► robomod 08:22, 16 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi Robomod. I notice another editor has already removed the promotional content. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 10:06, 16 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi MinorProphet. Thank you for creating the article, I found it very interesting. Regards --John B123 (talk) 19:07, 19 August 2020 (UTC)
One of the quickest articles I've ever written. On a different matter, I noticed you are into bikes: for my sins I own a Laverda Mirage 1200 TS, but it's not quite running at the moment. I came across this photo a while back, taken in East Germany in 1959: but I can't work out what it is. The initials on the tank badge look something like DWD - but I can't find anything similar in List of motorcycle manufacturers, either from the DDR or other Eastern Europe country. Any ideas? MinorProphet (talk) 19:36, 19 August 2020 (UTC)
I've always had a soft spot for Laverdas. As a young man I would have sold my soul to the devil for a Jota. The machine in the picture is possibly an AWD (nl:AWD (motorfiets), de:AWD (Motorradhersteller),   Media related to AWD at Wikimedia Commons) Regards --John B123 (talk) 20:13, 19 August 2020 (UTC)
Most interesting, thanks for hunting around. Lots of links to pix of AWDs on Flickr here. However, all the photos show the rounded logo painted (etc.) directly on the tank, whereas the one in my original pic is a badge with an entirely different logo. Could be something a bit like like EMW, Beemers made in a pre-war factory in E. Germany, though. Pity you can't see more of the engine, but it seems they used almost anything going. I imagine that's an oil tank behind the rider's leg. I used to get my spares for the Lav from Slater's in Herefordshire - Richard (brother of Roger) only retired a couple of years ago: unsurprisingly he literally knew everything about them. "The knowledge is free", he used to say, "it's the bits that set you back." He was pretty scornful of the lads who just wanted something very fast, no mechanical ability at all - Johnny Jotas, he called them. >MinorProphet (talk) 21:46, 19 August 2020 (UTC)

I think he would have thought of me as a "Johnny Jota". The picture you linked to is used on ar:حركة_ستيكانوفايت (The Stickanovite Movement), where the bike is described as an AWO 425T. A bit more research and it turns out your EMW thoughts were close - nl:AWO Regards --John B123 (talk) 22:43, 19 August 2020 (UTC)
Wow, stunning detective work. Sooo, the company was AWO, ie the Russian-controlled de:Awtowelo, which brought EMW and Simson (company) under one brand name. The bike is a re-badged 250cc shaft drive de:BMW R 25, made under licence after the Russians handed it all back to the East Germans. Actually, if I'd had a look at the Stakhanovite movement page myself I wouldn't have had to trouble you. Interestingly, the File:AWO-Sport.jpg and this one both show the round tank thing, whereas File:BMW R25 (1950).JPG has a battery. When I give myself some rest from Draft:Knights for the body - still very much a draft, very involved and not quite my thing, I might try some more German/Dutch translation and make an English AWO 425: and BMW R25 is frightfully empty. Cheers, >MinorProphet (talk) 02:54, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
The nl Wikipedia has loads of bike articles. I've translated a few in the past, perhaps it's time I translated a few more. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 15:43, 20 August 2020 (UTC)

Lethwei WikiProject

Hello, I'm Lethweimaster. I noticed that you edited a few Lethwei articles, thank you for that. I just created the Wikipedia:WikiProject Lethwei and was wondering if you were interested in being part of the project with us, it would be very motivating to add another member.
