Speedy deletion nomination of Infinity Roofing & Siding Inc

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Infinity Roofing & Siding Inc, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Joedaniel1776, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

Conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Joedaniel1776. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. HᴇʀᴘᴇᴛᴏGᴇɴᴇꜱɪꜱ (talk) 05:50, 26 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

  Hello, I'm Deb. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.Deb (talk) 08:50, 26 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

No External Relationship I modeled the article after the Belfor article, so that it was similar in nature and construction. I do not have a relationship with Infinity Roofing & Siding. I've been making edits off and on for years, mostly minor. Decided to try my hand at it after doing some research. I provided citations. Not sure the basis here. I reviewed already approved and posted articles elsewhere to model. Disconcerting. Joseph Daniel, MBA 09:21, 26 October 2020 (UTC)

That's fine, but unfortunately the article was tagged for breaching our guidelines and I agreed with that assessment. Thanks for pointing me to the Belfor article, which will also be tagged and possibly deleted after I've investigated the revision history. Deb (talk) 11:00, 26 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
I've marked this as helped on the basis of Deb's response above. if you have another question, please feel free to make another request. Best, Darren-M talk 17:21, 26 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation

edit

Hello, Joedaniel1776. In October you added several "famous people" and other related topics to the page Biohacking. That page is not an article, however; it is a disambiguation page. Disambiguation pages serve only to direct readers to the correct article when more than one Wikipedia article could be known by the same title. They follow a separate style from articles, which is described at Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Disambiguation pages.

I have removed the famous people, and moved the related topics that are not called biohacking to the "See also" section near the bottom of the page. If you want to access the information removed, you can find it using the "History" tab. Feel free to use it in a new or existing article, but please do not include it in the disambiguation page. Thanks, and happy editing, Cnilep (talk) 04:29, 1 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
