Welcome!

edit

Hello, Jibola Toriola, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you created or edited appears to be an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page. If your contributions to an existing article about yourself are undone and you wish to add to it, please propose the changes on its talk page.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. 331dot (talk) 07:46, 27 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia does not have or offer paid editing services. This is a volunteer project. Your client would not have "a Wikipedia", but a Wikipedia article. There can only be an article about them if they meet the special definition of a notable musician that Wikipedia has, as shown with independent reliable sources. As you have a conflict of interest, you won't be permitted to write it. You will also need to comply with the paid editing policy; this is a Terms of Use requirement and mandatory. However, if your only interest here is to edit about your client, you aren't going to be unblocked, and should consider alternative outlets, social media, or your own website where what you want to do is permitted. 331dot (talk) 07:49, 27 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
Outside entities do offer paid editing services(though you would have to find them yourself), but they must comply with the same policies and declare that they are being paid to edit and by whom. Despite what they say, they cannot make any guarantees, such as guaranteeing they will write an article that will not be deleted. Your client would still need to meet the notability criteria. 331dot (talk) 07:51, 27 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Blocked account - Jibola Toriola

edit

Can you please unblock this account . 1. The name JIBOLA Toriola is my legal name . The name used to set up the Wikipedia for the artist ‘Jhybo’, which is me, with the help of my PR. I have not intentionally used this page to spam and advertise , so I will not do that again. My Wikipedia was refused for the 4th time so I naively requesting help. 3. The Wikipedia is for artist purposes and no other reason - advertising/spam or other 4. I find all the text and where to write and respond / ask for help quite baffling . 5. I would like the account to be unblocked so I can continue to research and hopefully how to finalise the Wikipedia account . 6. Once again I’m extremely sorry and I did not realise posing a question where I did would cause me to get blocked. Jibola Toriola (talk) 01:33, 28 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
