Spelling

I didn't want to put this on the Athlon page, as the user was a probable troll (I'm disinclined to take anyone who isn't a newbie seriously if they insist on editing anonymously). But there are cases where spelling-change may be justified; if the article is about something strongly or specifically US (or whatever) related, MoS recommends using the US (or whatever) spelling. This doesn't really apply to Athlon though, which is made and sold throughout the world. Fourohfour 18:34, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

Intel Core Microarchitecture

I must have missed that one. Regardless, that was a single warning for the single edit made by that IP on that day; blocking an anon usually requires multiple progressively serious warnings over a reasonably short period of time. Even in cases of blatant vandalism, a single IP usually gets two or three warnings over the course of 24 hours before it's blocked, and there's no point in blocking an IP that hasn't edited in weeks or months. Because IPs can and frequently do change hands (and they clearly have in this case) it is more likely that the block will affect another user than that the one who earned the block will try to use the same address again before the block expires.

Vandalism is easy to revert, and in cases like these, where a user makes a single drive-by edit every few weeks, it's usually easier to revert and drop a {{test2}} on the user's talk page. Second AfD

It was no problem at all; for future reference, using {{subst:Afdx]] in place of the {{subst:afd1}} should allow one to create a separate page for the second nom. If ever you should forget to create a new nom page, you may also create a new page styled "Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Article name (xx nom)" and then copy and paste the discussion to the new page, changing the page's listing at AfD in order that the AfD link should reference the "(xx nom)" page. I'm not certain that the latter method is consistent with the GFDL, but we'll hope no one notices. :) Joe 19:17, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

Intel Core 2 Architecture

First of all, apologies if I wreck you page, I'm still figuring my way around here! Secondly, I amended the specs for the Conroe XE because allegedly Intel are pulling the 3.33GHz 1333Mhz FSB model in favour of a 2.93GHz 1066MHz FSB model (still multiplier unlocked), the 3.33GHz model will follow later this year / next year depending on how AMD respond. Nai & Mea

Though the I can agree with you on the meaning behind the names(I posted that fact a year ago), you just can't had them as "nigh & mare". And on The Heavenly Saint, it was a comparaion to the Arabic term for angels, which have similarity to the romanji "Enjeru".—Preceding unsigned comment added by Fractyl (talk • contribs)

Re: KingRanger

Funny you should mention that, I had suspected the same thing. He may have also edited as KingConvoy (talk · contribs)-- It was a result of an edit war with him that I settled on the compromise of PR not being in the intro, instead relegating it to the "Distrubtion" section. KingRanger and his ilk are, unfortunately, one of the biggest problems plauging the various Sentai articles -- Wikipedia's open nature combined with their typically brutish tactics leaves it fairly vulnerable. Thanks for the heads up, in any case, and I agree that it's necessary to keep a close watch on these things.--SB | T 03:02, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Abaranger

I sorry, but you're taking "English translations" a little to far. Unless someone, like me, adds a name meaning to go with it, I guess it would be open. But the fact is many of the mecha, Abarenoh, Killeroh, are caled that in English print anyway. Also, "Bakuryuu" means "Blast Dragon".

• You got be there, I can let that slide. But the mecha combinations still should not be "over-translated".
• Actally, I'm re-setting up "Name/Puns"(your Bakuryuu explaination is added to it). My plan was to place "Abarenoh's name means 'Riot Union King'" there. That way, for those who wish to know the full-tranlation can look at "names & puns".
