LifeWrap

edit

A tag has been placed on LifeWrap, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of LifeWrap and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Accounting4Taste:talk 21:02, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Non-pneumatic anti-shock garment do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Continually adding a link to the LifeWrap product to this article, especially when you are an interested party, is a clear conflict of interest. For proof of COI see http://www.northamptonchron.co.uk/news?articleid=4370497 with your comment, "Jessica Morris, University of California, San Francisco 08/08/2008 19:22:33

Safe Motherhood Programs at the University of California, San Francisco has conducted research, and is currently conducting further research into the use of the LifeWrap™ in developing countries.

If you would like to learn more, please see our site http://www.lifewraps.org" Quartermaster (talk) 19:09, 11 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Further Comment. Your wikipedia article, Non-pneumatic anti-shock garment, is a fine piece of work. However, please avoid continuing to insert the link to your company regarding LifeWrap. Note the warning above documenting your connection to this product. If, indeed, your product is a major player in the market for similar products, those who are interested will naturally find out about it by investigating the peer reviewed articles you cite. However, it is bad wikipedia form to blatantly tout the product via what is known as a "spam" link. It must be noted that you previously had your article specifically about LifeWrap deleted from the wikipedia project. Such activity can eventually lead to negative publicity, rather than positive promotion of your project.
I will continue to monitor potential future abuse, including any possible sock puppetry (creating new accounts for the sole purpose of circumventing wikipedia policies). --Quartermaster (talk) 19:23, 11 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
