DYK for Free Republic of Nias edit

On 18 June 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Free Republic of Nias, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that a group of escaped German prisoners established a short-lived Nazi state in the Dutch East Indies? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Free Republic of Nias. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Free Republic of Nias), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Paruman Agung edit

There's a lot of reference to "Ministry of Information of East Indonesia 1953" there, but there's no such reference. Could you double check / add the missing ref? Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 20:58, 23 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:1930s establishments in Indonesia edit

A tag has been placed on Category:1930s establishments in Indonesia requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! National Hero of Indonesia edit

Hi. I removed his name because of the [citation needed] tag. The Rizal Nurdin article does not mention the National Hero status, and even though the Indonesian language Wikipedia has a reference, it is a dead link. Regards Davidelit (Talk) 03:37, 28 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Well, closing your nomination is one solution. Another is to realize that DYK has very specific criteria for inclusion on the main page, the most important of which is verification. The hook fact must be stated in the article and cited (see WP:DYK#Cited hook). And hoping you'll never see me again is unlikely, because I've been the main one promoting hooks to the prep sets for many years. If I don't catch a problem, someone else will. I hope you'll reconsider your nominations and just write a hook fact that is present and sourced in the article. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 12:35, 29 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
