== Adoption ==

Hi! I noticed you were seeking to be adopted and wanted to offer my assistance. I've been here for about 16 months or so and have made well over 5000 edits. Oh, and I can help you with the user name if you want to change it! If you have already been adopted or no longer want to be adopted then please just ignore this message. Thanks! I'm thrilled to be your adopter! About your user name you may want to create a new account or have it renamed (of course he he). More to the point, you need to come up with a new user name and the go to Wikipedia:Changing username and file the request. Mention privacy as the reason since you appeared to use your real name as user name. It may take a day or two before the request is handled but they will take care of it. Tell me when you have done so and I'll monitor the request. If you are unsure about how to fill out the request then ask me but the request itself needs to be made from your account.
The way I figured we could get this started was by basically letting you ask whatever questions you might have. That will give me some idea of what you would like to do here and what policies or guidelines we should start with. The most important thing though is that you just try whatever you want to do here. I'll keep an eye on your edits and help out if there are any problems.
I'll create User talk:EconomicsGuy/Jeremy and we can use that page to communicate since it won't be archived or cluttered by unrelated talk.
The best way to get started is by editing articles that are already here. Wikipedia has some strict policies against biting new users so don't be afraid to make an edit if you feel that it will improve the article. Like I said I'll keep an eye on things and step in if there should be any problems. Usually I'm online during work which is from around 8 AM to 4-5 PM European time. I'm also online most evenings and during the weekend. Cheers and happy editing!
