Thanks for posting your thoughts. I replied to your comment on the talk page. I think you are misunderstanding the plan. It does not record individual transactions and would have no effect or relation with any type of National ID Cards. The FairTax only requires your family size and social security numbers if you wish to receive the rebate that untaxes purchases up to the poverty level. It removes all forms of income taxation (not just the income tax). Reading your userpage, I see that you are a Libertarian. I thought I'd note that the FairTax receives many of its supporters from this political philosophy. The FairTax is in the platform for the Libertarian Reform Caucus, Libertarain party of Florida, among others.
