Hi. Thanks for contributing the article on John Mantley. It is an excellent and very informative article. However, I was wondering if you could add some references to the article? TomPhil: Thank you for your complimentary feedback. All of the information for the article was gleaned from one interview with John Mantley. I'm not sure what you mean by "adding references." Please get back to me on that.

Reply re inappropriate editing

I am replying to your comment at User talk:Jean Henry Mead here, because I think you are more likely to notice this reply if I put it here.

As a matter of fact, I did not erase anything in the article you mentioned, as can be verified by looking at its History. I did edit the article, but the only thing I did to that article was to add some "tags" (commonly known on Wikipedia as templates) suggesting improvements, which is something that requires no particular special skill. I did not edit any of your text on that occasion.

You must understand that a founding principle of Wikipedia is that anyone can edit almost any article - and in the event of a dispute, Wikipedia policies such as Wikipedia:Verifiability are used to resolve them. We do not prohibit, and have never prohibited, non-experts editing the work of experts. If a random person has a contribution to make that accords with our policy and guidelines, then they can go ahead and make it. I'm sorry, but that's just the nature of Wikipedia, and has been since its inception. This is one of the main implications of the text "You agree to license your contributions under the GFDL" - present on every edit page.

If you can identify any instance where I have contributed in an inappropriate way which diminishes the quality of an article, or is uncivil, of course I would be happy to discuss it. Greenrd: I wasn't accusing you of erasing and redirecting the Will Henry article to the heading "Henry Wilson Allen." It was Konczewski who did the deed. Allen was known by everyone as Will Henry (friends, readers, etc.) and few people knew his "real" name, which is why my article was labeled as his pseudonym. And few people knew him well enough to write accurately about his life, so Konczewski did the gifted writer a great disservice with his substituted paragraphs. Jean Henry 23:06, 23 April 2007 (MST)
