Deleting airline stub

edit

IIRC the article you were talking about was little more than a rephrasing of the title without sources (wikipedia is not a web directory. Yes we welcome new information to be added, but we do need to make sure that information has some value, is likely to be of broader interest and is properly sourced (see WP:NOR, WP:RS etc.) If you have some more substantive information on the airline please feel free to recreate it. --pgk 17:53, 5 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Just to clarify I said substantive, not substantial. Even a most basic stub needs enough information to get people going on expanding it, and some indication of the significance or otherwise. For most areas we have notability guidlines (see WP:CORP for corporations, which I guess is where airlines would fall). Also see WP:NOT we aren't just here to collect information anymore than you'd expect an encyclopedia to be. It's difficult to tell from the basic description which of the information you have would make for reasonable articles it may be none of it, it may be all of it. As I say that particular article was little more than a restatement of the title so didn't give much to build upon. You might like to start a discussion on the village pump as you may get some useful input into the best way to use the information you have. --pgk 19:18, 5 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Notability of Air Dawson

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Air Dawson, by Russavia (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Air Dawson seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Air Dawson, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 02:53, 9 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
