Fish camp
editHi Jakebathman. It's not appropriate to take an existing disambiguation page and turn it into another article, as you've done on Fish Camp. If you feel that another article is appropriate, then you would need to create, for example, Fish Camp (Texas A&M tradition), and link to that from the disambiguation page. However, I strongly caution you against that. There is not much information on Fish Camp in reliable sources that isn't already included in the Traditions of Texas A&M University page. It is highly likely that such an article would be deleted/merged back into traditions anyway. I'm going to restore the disambiguation page right now. Before moving your content to a new page (like Fish Camp (Texas A&M tradition)), I encourage you to start a conversation at WikiProject Texas A&M or on the traditions talk page to see if others familiar with the topic think there ought to be a separate article. Karanacs (talk) 17:47, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
- I have posted on the talk page my intention to create a full article, and I'm working on it on my user page instead of on a new Fish Camp page. I believe there is more than enough information to warrant a full article, but we'll see when I'm completed if we shouldn't just make a new section on the Texas A&M Traditions page.--Jakebathman (talk) 04:55, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
- Good luck on that. For help, I'd recommend posting something on Wikipedia:WikiProject Texas A&M. While you are there, I'd recommend joining. Any one of a number of users would likely be happy to help, including myself, User:Karanacs, User:BlueAg09, and others. Deletion
editTo learn more about deletion-related stuff, be sure to read Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Also, don't miss out on the essay by I'm Spartacus! (talk · contribs) titled Why I hate Speedy Deleters. That essay makes me think twice before tagging an article for speedy deletion. Cheers, Cunard (talk) 09:40, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks very much for the links, I'll take some time to read those before continuing.--Jakebathman (talk) 09:41, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

editUCSB Hillel
editAs it's written, the article qualifies as blatant advertising. I'm re-adding the CSD tag; if an administrator decides to give it more time, so be it. Judging from my past experience, however, I think the article's doomed. Peace. C1k3 (talk) 08:08, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
The point of the article is not advertising at all - it is a university sponsored organization... that is NOT open to the public- the point of the article is the discuss its rich and interesting history, purpose on campus, the importance of the building as the only GREEN building in the area- and let jewish students who wish to attend UCSB what their jewish community has to offer... I would like some positive input as to how we can make it better and more suitable for wikipedia standards —Preceding unsigned comment added by Leahjeny (talk • contribs) 19:33, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
AsiaPay Speedy deleted
editI would like to write an article for AsiaPay as simply as below:
"AsiaPay Limited is an online payment service provider, strives to electronic payment processing solutions and services to banks, corporate, SMEs, charities and others in Asia market for credit card, debit card and other prepaid card payments. AsiaPay serves as accredited TPP processor and payment gateway solution vendor for banks, certified IPSP[1] for merchants, certified international 3D-Secure vendor for Visa[2], MasterCard [3]and JCB[4]. Headquartered in Hong Kong, AsiaPay operates 5 other offices across Asia including Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, Macau and China."
I have added reference from Visa, MasterCard and JCB, which show that AsiaPay is an authorized payment gateway in the industry. Please advice what reference should be included? --Bowielkk (talk) 08:19, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
- Articles on Wikipedia must be encyclopedic in nature. This means meeting notability standards as well as verifiable third party sources. Please also see What Wikipedia is not for more information about what types of articles are proper for Wikipedia. The article you have written is more like an advertisement for a company rather than an objective article. --If you have questions, please leave a comment on my talk page (Jakebathman) 08:26, 3 March 2009 (UTC
DefySupply
editThe DefySupply page has been a candidate for Speedy Deletion quite recently. The article itself not only has reliability and sources from Yahoo and other media outlets, but it can also "stand-alone" as there is no original research necessary to extract content.
Since the page was deleted before I could cite any verifiable third party sources, you were unable to see the three references that I was including into the article.
At first glance, the article seems like an advertisement. However, the goal of the article is to illustrate DefySupply's unique objective within the E-commerce world.
What proper steps must I take to get the page re-established? ReidTiffany (talk) 21:13, 3 March 2009 (UTC)ReidTiffany
- If the beginnings of the article look like advertising, try forming the entire article first in your user space (such as at ReidTiffany/DefySupply) and once it's completed move it to the main space. Your user page is a powerful tool for testing Wikipedia tools and writing new articles. →If you have questions, please leave a comment on my talk page (JakeBathman) 21:17, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Hiya Jake, I don't understand why you want to delete my band page, I put loads of work in please im begging you to keep it up:P I'm not even sure this is how I respond to your deletion thing. But you said it came under A7 which means its pointless or something, but the page does have a point; to provide information on the band. Regards Wewoodruff
- Ah i see your problem with it, let me see if i can fix that wewoodruff
I didn't do the speedy deletion as you had tagged, but I could have; this was a judgment call. Basically, I speedy articles for spam if, based on past reactions of creators of similar articles, I suspect that the creator won't care about Wikipedia's distaste for promotionalism. I thought the student who created this IMUSE article might be more receptive (and at least he left a message ... in the article!) I've prodded the article and I let the creator know that he's on a deadline to come up with reliable sources establishing notability. - No problem, thanks for helping out. I'm fine with keeping it and it looks like it will be expanded and may be okay.→If you have questions, please leave a comment on my talk page (JakeBathman) 05:14, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
So where is it
editWhat clue is there in the first paragraph of UCSB Hillel as to where it is? So why remove the {{whereisit}} tag? — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 06:03, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
- That tag states, "This article is about a place, but does not specify the country, city or region where it is located." This is an organization at a University, not a place. Reading further into the article does tell you the location of the group, but it's not the main point. The tag isn't appropriate.→If you have questions, please leave a comment on my talk page (JakeBathman) 06:07, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
In the time it took you to write the above and put the same in talk:UCSB Hillel you could actually have fixed the context and whereisit problems. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 09:13, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
- My point is that the whereisit tag was never appropriate. The article was already marked for cleanup and the author was working to add additional information and bring it up to standards. We don't need to add massive amounts of tags during this time, especially ones like whereisit that do not apply to the article. I am letting the author continue to write and update it and I will monitor the progress. →If you have questions, please leave a comment on my talk page (JakeBathman) 13:58, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Francois Grosjean web page
editHopefully the changes we brought to the page on March 7 will allow you to take out the note "This article does not cite any references or sources. Please help improve this article by adding citations to reliable sources. Unverifiable material may be challenged and removed."
Don't hesitate to send a message to fglg if there is a problem. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fglg (talk • contribs) 16:33, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the cleanup, in the future after the article is changed (citations added, etc.) you can remove the tag yourself. →If you have questions, please leave a comment on my talk page (JakeBathman) 22:12, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
Hello again, many thanks for taking the message away; I really appreciate your help with this. Good luck with all your other pages! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fglg (talk • contribs) 07:11, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
