Difference between User pages and Articles

edit

A user page is not an article, to put it simply, and should not be treated as one. User pages are intended to tell other editors who you are, and do not function as a place to put your autobiography. A decent example is my userpage, here. You shouldn't try and write a autobiography anyways, as you do not appear to be notable, and writing autobiographies on wikipedia is strongly discouraged. Wikipedia is not an advertising platform, and will not net you subscribers. --MoonyTheDwarf (Braden N.) (talk) 01:25, 27 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

November 2019

edit

Hello. Your recent edit to Jake (given name) appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. Your draft article, Draft:Jake Huffman

edit

Hello, JakePersonYT. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Jake Huffman".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! JMHamo (talk) 08:21, 2 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

June 2022

edit

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did at The One That Got Away (American Dad!), you may be blocked from editing. Is the inline note unclear? DonIago (talk) 02:02, 10 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

It is season 4 not season 5 I'm right JakePersonYT (talk) 15:58, 10 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Did you review List of American Dad! episodes? DonIago (talk) 18:52, 10 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Yeah it's wrong meter made is in season 3 and The One That Got Away is in Season 4 JakePersonYT (talk) 20:44, 10 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

You'll need to discuss that at the Talk page for the list article then, because we've had a bunch of editors changing season numbers without understanding how we're applying them. Cheers. DonIago (talk) 21:09, 10 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Stop

edit

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did at Clancy Brown, you may be blocked from editing. Zvig47 (talk) 15:33, 20 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Sorry didn't know how to work it JakePersonYT (talk) 23:54, 20 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to add information, but it has to be sourced and overall not sloppy. A good way to do that is by using the preview button and seeing what the article looks like after your edit. If it’s messy you can go back without publishing your edit and try to fix the problem. Zvig47 (talk) 02:50, 21 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ok thanks JakePersonYT (talk) 12:36, 21 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Personal Information

edit

You need to be careful with your edits, because from those alone I can assume that your name is Jake Huffman and your YouTube channel currently has 23 subscribers. Please be more careful. Zvig47 (talk) 15:52, 20 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Genuine question how many people are going to do a deep dive into that JakePersonYT (talk) 23:58, 20 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Literally missed the point. I’m letting you know that you need to be careful about what you put about yourself on this website. Especially given the fact that you are not a notable person yet you present information about yourself as though you are one. Zvig47 (talk) 02:49, 21 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
