Potential CVUA Interest
Hi Jackson! After my adoption with Go Phightins!, I may be interested in being a CVUA trainee with Nerdfighter. First, I have to finish my final exam. However, I am also interested in the adopt a user program. I may want to help GP guide an adoptee through the course, If he'll let me. Anyway, I would like to be recruited by you. That's kind of a weird request, asking to be recruited. I may be able to multitask, but it depends on if Go Phightins! is interested in me helping him. Thanks. ~~JHUbal27 20:40, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
- Hi JHUbal! It's good to hear from you, again! I'd love to help you in whatever way that I can. I am not a CVUA trainer, but I do help coordinate User:Nerdfighter's CVUA trainings and, therefore, could have some interaction with you in that way! I'm also happy to provide guidance in an unstructured setting. I strongly encourage you to contact Nerdfighter at User:Nerdfighter/CVUA and User_Talk:Nerdfighter - he's the one who taught me, and a great guy! I'm happy to introduce you, if you'd like. Just let me know! --Jackson Peebles (talk) 21:47, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
- Forgot to address the issue of GP assistance. I can't speak on his behalf, but I know that he's one of the most popular adoption program trainers, so he may need the help, or he may not be able to handle training someone at this time; I literally have no idea. I can also reach out to him for you, if you'd like! Yet another great guy on Wikipedia. Thanks so much for your interest in helping others! --Jackson Peebles (talk) 21:50, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks! I like the invitation, it's very persuasive. Go Phightins! currently has two adoptees on the waiting list. All I know is that they're very impatient, and I feel rushed. In the most polite way possible, "You're going to have to wait, sorry." They stalk us like I stalked you when I was waiting. ~~JHUbal27 01:30, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
- As for the vandalism academy, I am confused on what or what isn't vandalism. I have diffs as examples. —> [2] and [3] Are these two vandalism, factual inaccuracies, original research? I'm not sure. Do you know? Thanks. ~~JHUbal27 01:30, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
- Good questions! The inherent problem with these examples is that they aren't a bunch of expletives thrown together and they aren't patent nonsense. Therefore, I would Assume Good Faith per WP:AGF, as you did, with both of them. Tower, County Cork is trickier because it involves people and one must always be cautious of WP:BLP before any other policy, even if the article itself isn't centered on a person. I look at it this way: the onus is not on us to prove the content if it seems sketchy or puts up alarms in our brain. Rather, the onus is on them due to WP:V, an official Wikipedia policy that has consensus. You did the right thing in both edits, as mentioned. The beagle one is almost certainly good faith, and the user would likely benefit from a Twinkle welcome message with a short personalized message explaining how their content was not a necessary change. I do not know that this is the case, but when in doubt, require a reliable source but assume good faith (that doesn't mean you can't revert it, though)! The appropriate warning templates would be uw-unsourced and a welcome, respectively.

- I'm sorry to hear about the impatient potential adoption candidates; I have noticed that trend, though it's a good problem to have, I suppose. You might direct them to WP:Adopt-a-user/Adoptee's Area/Adopters if they're so impatient and GP agrees that that's the best approach. Addressing CVUA, they really do cover a step-by-step approach to identifying what is and isn't vandalism and how to deal with it, including repeat offenders and reporting users to administrators. I highly recommend it. --Jackson Peebles (talk) 02:16, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks. I will highly consider it. ~~JHUbal27 02:38, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

Keith Vaz
Why have you destroyed perfected valid democratic comment on the Keith Vaz page? Do you serve The Bloodlines? Have you been deleting amending to [Alpha Dranconis] too?
- I am choosing to interpret this as a legitimate request for clarification. Upon review, I stand by my decision to rollback your comment at Keith Vaz. Your addition read "Many wonder why he has never served a prison sentence." While this may or may not be true, The Rt Hon Vaz is a living person and, therefore, protected by WP:BLP. Therefore, all added biographical information must be referenced using reliable and valid sources. Wikipedia is not a forum for discussion, debate, or original research. I apologize if your edit was made in good faith, but it did fail to meet stringent standards set forth by the Wikipedia community and appears to attack an individual. To answer your other two questions, to the best of my knowledge, I do not "serve The Bloodlines" and I have not been "deleting amending to [Alpha Dranconis] (sic)," either, though I'll take a look at it, if you'd like me to. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you would like more information, and I have also posted a welcome template to your talk page. --Jackson Peebles (talk) 21:06, 7 April 2013 (UTC)
I think you made a mistake
I think you made a mistake in undoing my correction of Yale International Relations Associations page. We recently elected a new president, and may have been unproductive to include "leader of the YIRANation" in the middle of Mr. Heymann's name, I think it is important that the correct president name be updated on your website. Let me know if disagree. I will gladly argue this with you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.36.170.41 (talk) 05:13, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
- If I'm understanding you correctly, you acknowledge that including "leader of the YIRANation" was an accident or mistake and that you only meant to change the name of the leader. Feel free to add the new president's name back in, I'm sure that you can understand why I thought that it was vandalism with the original edit! Let me know if I can be of any assistance in this! --Jackson Peebles (talk) 16:52, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
Stryrofoam
Styrofoam is a common english word referring to a plastic foam material, the origin of which is irrelevant. Your reversion of my correction is senseless vandalism.

Role model!
SIR, You are my role model for being a good adoptee. I was going through your exam paper when you were adopted by phigtins, brilliant answers..I hope you can give me your guidance also as I am considered to be a adoptee of phigtins.Uncletomwood (talk) 12:28, 31 March 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks, Uncletomwood, that's really nice to hear! Going through Go Phightins' training was really beneficial to me. I'd also recommend going through CVUA training, if you're interested. Nerdfighter, who, incidentally, is now also a student of Go Phightins!, was my trainer for CVUA. Anyhow, they're both great guys, and I learned a lot from them (now I'm a Reviewer and Rollbacker, which lets you use awesome tools like STiki). They definitely opened me up to the workings of Wikipedia, and now I'm trying to perpetuate that, so please feel free to contact me whenever you'd like to; I'm more than willing to help, and I know that Go Phightins! can get bogged down with work a lot - I think he sometimes over-extends himself. Best of luck, and thank you again! --Jackson Peebles (talk) 17:35, 31 March 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Jackson! The Wikimon considers me as a role model, as an adoptee of Phightins. I did mention you though . Phightins is awesome, so is Tazerdadog and you are awesome also. Now that I'm on my final exam, I learned a lot and have several role models on Wikipedia. ~~JHUbal27 17:53, 31 March 2013 (UTC)

The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie 2
Hey Jackson Peebles! Thank you for your help and contributions. I just wanted to let you know that I've notice some problems regarding your review in the article, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie 2. You've accepted a revision which is unverified and obviously a hoax. Please be more careful next time when reviewing revisions. Thanks and happy editing! Mediran (t • c) 07:58, 27 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads-up, Mediran! I appreciate your friendly reminder and tone and, as always, I welcome the feedback, especially from an accomplished editor such as yourself! With that said, I'm afraid I can't locate the diff in question, and the only revision that I recall approving was a list of characters that I double-checked to not be vandalism or other policy violations (though I'm certainly not denying the possibility that I messed up in this regard). If you could please kindly direct me to the diff so that I can review my actions, I'd really appreciate it. In the meantime, I'll definitely amp up my reviewing; I know that it's an extremely important task, and I try to be as careful as possible, so I feel very bad about any mistakes that I might've made. I hope to hear from you, soon! --Jackson Peebles (talk) 17:32, 27 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for that. You've accepted 4 revisions by 201.198.168.150 and here is the diff of the changes review (here). For further information, you can visit its review log. The user added some unverified voice casts (e.g. Jim Carrey, Bryan Doyle-Murray, etc.) to the article. Also, please don't feel bad about that because I think it was just an unintentional mistake and I know you're doing your tasks as a Wikipedian greatly. There's nothing to worry about. Thanks! ;) Mediran (t • c) 00:24, 28 April 2013 (UTC)

- Krishna, I really respect the tone that you took in your response to me, and I appreciate you taking the time to explain your rationale to me. Your courtesy goes a long way. With that said, I'm afraid that I must maintain that, by including links to your website, you are, unfortunately, violating Wikipedia's policies. In regards to the other changes reverted, I assumed good faith in those (although they violated the Manual of Style, but they were combined with the promotional content. I'd also like to direct you to Wikipedia's COI and neutral point-of-view policies. I do not think you violated NPOV, but you are in violation of COI, albeit unintentionally. I noticed that you reverted my edit, and I must ask you to not do that again or edit the page again; Reviewer and Rollbacker ChrisGualtieri has since reverted your reversion. I am genuinely very willing and happy to help, though, so please do not hesitate to ask. Cheers, and happy editing! --Jackson Peebles (talk) 16:46, 30 April 2013 (UTC)

Beatific vision
Hi, sorry I had not logged in - what policies were you talking about that deny an editor the right to suspect WP:OR when there is text being used with no cite? (20040302 (talk) 20:28, 12 May 2013 (UTC))
- Sorry, I have no idea what you're talking about. I revert tons of edits every day. Please provide me with a diff! --Jackson Peebles (talk) 21:30, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
- See http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Beatific_vision&diff=554764777&oldid=554764046 for the change and http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:86.160.206.237&oldid=554764780 for the comment you made.
- My understanding of WP:GF is includes (from the policy): Everyone makes mistakes, both behavioral (such as personal attacks) and content-based (such as adding original research). Most of the time, we can correct such mistakes with simple reminders. Marking a sentence with (original research?) was intended to be a simple reminder. The entire paragraph is uncited - and at first glance fails to meet WP:NOR. Was your edit a speedy response to an anonymous edit? I thought that we still bought into the idea that anyone can edit, and that we can assume WP:GF for anonymous editors just as much as we can registered ones... Of course, because you only used WP:LOP in your comment I have no idea just what policy or policies you reverted my edit over. (20040302 (talk) 14:05, 13 May 2013 (UTC))
- Thank you for the diff links. Much appreciated. You'll note that I did assume good faith when reverting your edit - it certainly wasn't vandalism. The reason why I reverted the edit, in which you merely added (original research?) to the end of a sentence, was to meet the Manual of Style recommendations, which do not include inserting parenthetical notes where original research is needed, especially when they are grammatically incorrect sentence fragments. Rather, I strongly suggest using any one of the original research templates, including the inline ones, which are more standardized and provide a link as to how to go about actually correcting the issues rather than merely pointing them out, or being bold and fixing the issue yourself. I can understand your request for more information in instances such as these, so I am glad that you took the time to contact me. Please feel free to take a look through my contributions as well as some of the adoption assistance that I do - you will notice that I probably assume good faith, including with IP editors, more than the vast majority of Wikipedia editors, so I did not much appreciate your sarcastic remark, above. I wish you the best, and I hope that this clarified. I stand by my decision to revert in good faith. --Jackson Peebles (talk) 18:47, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
- Apologies - no sarcasm meant; not sure I see where I was being sarcastic - maybe it's a culture clash, anyhow I'm happy to be both friendly and civil. Can I humbly request when you post similar comments to others that you use the actual policy that you feel needs addressing (in this case MOS:LQ - is that right?!) rather than the catchall WP:LOP ? 20040302 (talk)

Hello
Hi Jackson Pebbles. I am in Nerdfighter's CVUA class and just poped in to say hi. Actualy, I have 2 questions: 1 how do I get the user page format you have, I like its "clean" look? 2 I saw that you have the Teahouse first birthday badge, and that you got it on 2/27/13. - Use this format (I, in turn, took it from another user):
{{user info | full name = Your Name (or username) | image name = imageofyourchoice.png | hover text = hover text of image | job title = Your job title (just make it clear you're not with WMF) | organization = Self-explanatory | short quote = ''"Jackson Peebles is awesome."'' —Everyone | about me = I am blabla. | about my work = I do blabla. {{break!}} | contact me = * E-mail: email * Other }}
- The badge was handed out by experienced Teahouse users. Read more at Wikipedia:Teahouse/Badge. I would not recommend awarding yourself a badge, though if you keep doing good work, others will reward you - I promise! Sometimes it just takes time to get public appreciation, though the public and the community will always appreciate positive work that you do on the Wiki. --Jackson Peebles (talk) 04:50, 15 May 2013 (UTC)
Getting into trouble continuously
Hi I am getting into trouble with my edits most of the time either creating a controversy or some thing like that. I had joined wikipedia course with you as instructor kindly guide me in the future. Hoping for your assistance.Benedictdilton (talk) 02:47, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

I am interested in the adoption offer you had given me. The page you guided me seems a little confusing and I was not able to find a way to make a request there. Thanks in advance for your help and feed back of SPI page. I would like to learn how to become a perfect editor in wikipedia. Benedictdilton (talk) 05:43, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

Otherwise, with a user of your experience, I wouldn't have done a thing to your user talk page. The problem was that it was reverted to another vandalized page (see history). So, I just reverted it to the last good revision! No harm done!

Video Tutorials
Hey Jackson, I was just reading about your project with a grant from WMF to create screencast video tutorials. This sounds really helpful, and if you need any help, I would be glad to pitch in. Just let me know. Happy editing! Go Phightins! 18:39, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
- If you are looking to do it solo, that's OK too, I just wanted to add a psst in case you missed my message. No need to reply; it's up to you :) Go Phightins! 02:48, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
- Sorry, GP! I've been swamped with work. I'd love some help. The problem is finding out where I need help the most! Your kind offers are always appreciated, and I'll tell you right now that, even if I didn't want/need assistance (which I do), I'd tell you so. Did you have anything in mind that you might specialize in? --Jackson Peebles (talk) 02:24, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
- No problem. I too have been rather sparse lately due to some real life commitments. I can help with pretty much whatever. I am not an expert coder, so pretty much anything other than that, I can help with. Writing scripts for videos, editing, proofreading, whatever you need, let me know. June looks good for my availability, July looks wretched, August looks potentially decent. Let me know. Go Phightins! 03:00, 23 May 2013 (UTC)

Okay, I've got three things for you, then :
- Script (word-for-word, it's what I'll plug into the voice generator)/"screenplay" (doesn't need to be detailed, if you say "italicize this" then I'll know how to do that, obviously) for a tutorial that shows how to make basic edits (bold, italicize, a basic reference, section headings, links - basically the stuff at the top of the editor).
- Script for reverting vandalism, welcoming users, etc., using Twinkle specifically (there are going to be lots of vandalism, but Twinkle gets its own).
- Do you know how to get content in the Signpost or wikipedia-l mailing list? I've had great difficulty. I'd also like to eventually get these on the fancy-schmancy ad bars on the top of pages, but I think that's a long shot.
Thanks! --Jackson Peebles (talk) 03:52, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
- Well, I am a Signpost reporter, as you may have read in the In the media section, but in all honesty I am not sure you can necessarily get into the Signpost unless you wait at the back of the line at the WikiProject report. I'll talk to Ed about it and see what he thinks. When I have time, I will script how to welcome users. I may even record a "rough draft" if I figure out how. Go Phightins! 10:46, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
- Haha, I didn't even know I had that connection - cool! I got your e-mail and really appreciated it. One of these days I'm going to sit down and really plug away on all of this stuff. Thanks so much again, and maybe the Signpost article should actually hold off until the project is done, on second thought. --Jackson Peebles (talk) 16:04, 28 May 2013 (UTC)

sir i created this page Telecom Enforcement Resource and Monitoring (TERM),this being a government cell enforcing telecom policies and a very important department.the mishap which occurred is that this page had this info of Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (India) and the page http://www.indianholidayplanner.in/communication.html had copied the same info on wiki and posted on their site!.i ddnt copy from this site at all to put into the page.please help me out and the grounds on which it was deleted was also frivolous G12 and G11!Can you atleast request to see it and decide.Uncletomwood (talk) 04:15, 29 May 2013 (UTC)
- If I understand correctly, you're stating that you created the page on Wikipedia and the website copied your information to their site, not vice-versa? I'm assuming good faith, I've seen your work around. I'm going to go ahead and let the administrator know what you have to say on this. If you have any evidence to prove that they copied the content, that'd be much appreciated (i.e. cached pages, an e-mail from their admin, etc.). --Jackson Peebles (talk) 06:08, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

- The article was created virtually complete at 04.39 0n 28 May, but it could have been developed elsewhere. I've asked him to indicate where the text was first published, since if it was copied by the other site they must have been able to see it earlier than 17 May. If he is able to point us to a source, and it's not on Wikipedia, there might be a licensing issue anyway. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 09:18, 29 May 2013 (UTC)
- His article was a fork from Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (India), which, unfortunately, was copied from the relevant ministry's website. I accept that there was no intentional infringement by this editor, but there was nevertheless a violation. I've now removed the offending text Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:33, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for letting me know, I was just adding 'The 100' to what he stared in, he will be staring this fall. Also, may I suggest that The 100 page become a disambiguation, as their is more than one thing than needs that link. Original Authority (talk) 15:00, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
- No problem. Actually, the only revert I saw fit to change was the broken image link and the sentence fragment - perhaps an edit didn't completely save? Anyhow, not a bad idea about the disambiguation, I suggest calling for consensus and/or an RfC at the appropriate Talk page. --Jackson Peebles (talk) 16:50, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
- The broken image link, was because I am not confirmed yet so it wouldn't let me upload an image, forgot to remove the link. Anyway, I don't quite understand you? Original Authority (talk) 17:00, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
- I see. You can always put in a request for an upload at Wikipedia:Files_for_upload. Also, I suggest bringing up your disambiguation request at Talk:The 100 to meet WP:CONSENSUS requirements, which might necessitate a WP:RfC. --Jackson Peebles (talk) 17:21, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

Piprahwa
I'm not sure what you mean by 'better', exactly. The additions were simply an attempt to give the opposing view to that of the present page, which reads like an advertisement for the present attempt to sell the Peppe jewels (of which I assume you are aware). I have researched this problem, both in London and in India, for the past twenty years, and the results can be seen in my website at http://www.piprahwa.org.uk They are undoubtedly the most exhaustive researches into these thorny matters that has ever been made (have you had access, for instance, to the unpublished Government documents in the National Archives of India, as I have?). Were the additions - the very IMPORTANT additions - in any way false? If not, why have you removed them? You are doing the cause of Buddhism a very great disservice with your actions here, so please restore my contributions as before.Taphelps (talk) 12:54, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
- Hi, Taphelps, and thanks for taking the time to let me know about your concerns on this page. My reason for reverting your edit was due to additional of information without citing a source, addition of redlinks to non-notable pages, addition of content that is (also according to your above statement) original research, which is prohibited on Wikipedia, and addition of grammatical errors, all assuming good faith. You'll note that I have had no issue with your more recent edit, though you might want to thank Pipscherf13 for tidying your work up a bit, too, and that addition remains - thanks for the good sources on that one. I really do appreciate your edits to Wikipedia, and I think that we can probably agree that the encyclopedia needs to be as complete and accurate as possible. Since I haven't, in fact, seen the archives that you have and they haven't been cited, I'm sure you can understand my need to see a reliable secondary source before accepting it. I share your goal of making information related to Buddha and other topics as accessible and precise as possible, so please don't hesitate to contact me with any concerns in the future. --Jackson Peebles (talk) 06:40, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
This is the first time I've ever stooped to making comments on Wikipedia, and it will be the last, too, I imagine. 'Tidying up' my foot! The material that I added would be far beyond reach of the kind of people that are presently seeing fit to 'edit' (i.e. mutilate) this page, so if everyone is happy to leave it looking like an advertisement for the present sale of those wretched Piprahwa jewels, then so be it. Me. I'll stick with accessing / dealing with the hard-won, genuine sources that I have mentioned, and leave the rest to hoi-polloi. If you want to see the REAL truth of the Piprahwa pantomime (which was simply an imperial ploy to get Siam onside during the 1890s)then visit my website, 'The Piprahwa Deceptions', (where you can also find my email address). about your edits on the South American Explorers page
Jackson Peebles, I'm involved at the SAE in Cusco and this article on the SAE organization is quite out of date and doesn't include any information about the current club activities and nothing at all about the Cusco club or the current day activities of any of the active South American clubhouses. I think my info is very relevant and so please don't erase it. Who are you? Do you work for wikipedia or for SAE? I really don't think your review is relevant. I am sorry if my formatting is not perfect, I am working on it and I will improve it. If you have some suggestions on better writing/formatting my info, I would welcome the advice. Frontierk (talk) 21:27, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
- Frontierk, I am a Wikipedia Reviewer and Rollbacker. First of all, I want to let you know that I appreciate you taking the time to contact me. I took a look at the reversion that I did of your edits, and I believe that I can clarify why I reverted your edits. They appeared to be a bit too self-promotional. While I admire your willingness to help the project, your admission that you work with SAE is also a violation of Wikipedia's COI policy. I also suggest that you review WP:SOAP, which is also an applicable policy. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions in the future! I will post a welcome template to your page for future reference! --Jackson Peebles (talk) 01:21, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
I don't really know what to do. What I have posted is information about the current activities of the club, maybe that could be considered promotion, but its the listed facts of what is actively happening at the club and hopefully some conveyance of the club's mandate and attitude. The original entry for SAE is pretty old and quite out of date but I have left it intact for now. I just added the "clubhouse" section. I have contacted the club's founder to maybe shorten the bulk of the text (now I feel like it reads like a personal memoir of the founder, quite gossipy and not very practical). It seems to me that the concept of a 'travelers club' is quite interesting and some combo of history, active activities, links and a short general description would be best. I'm trying to communicate within the club (all individuals and mostly volunteer and many very new members) to get a good text to put online. But if it is not appropriate for a member of this club to update the info on wikipedia, then who should best do it? I am pretty new to the club (which is very large and international) and I wanted to update the page because when I had first tried to inform myself what an explorers club was about, I found the info very unclear. any comments would be appreciated!Tomorrow I will take a look at the text with some others and see how we can present the facts in the most unbiased way possible.
