Proposed deletion of Untitled Sanjay Dutt Biopic

The article Untitled Sanjay Dutt Biopic has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NOTFILM.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Referencing for Beginners

edit

How to use the citation tool built into the edit window. Cite > Templates > Cite web > Fill in the fields.

Hi there, so re: this edit and similar ones like this and this, it appears you might benefit from some help with reference formatting, as I notice some issues with some of your references: We're missing a space between the URL and the article title, in many cases the article titles are not properly capitalised, they shouldn't be italicised, and the phrasing "An article from Indian Express" or "An article from TOI" is non-standard. You might benefit from taking a look at Referencing for Beginners. The simplest way, in my opinion, to deal with references, is a two step approach:

  1. Slap bare URLs into ref tags like this: <ref>http://indianexpress.com/article/entertainment/bollywood/dia-mirza-to-play-manyata-in-sanjay-dutt-bipoic-4485399</ref>. Save the page.
  2. Then access the tool reFill, paste the article title into the appropriate field, and reFill will fill out most references automatically. The tool doesn't work 100% of the time, so you may have to still format manually.

Alternatively, if you need a more hands-on approach to referencing, built into the edit window is a very useful citation tool. To cite a website, you would need to click on "Cite > Templates > Cite web" and this will bring up a window with a variety of fill-in boxes. The accompanying picture should make it easy to visualise. This is the second-easiest way to add references, in my opinion. I've done this in these edits and the result is a much cleaner set of references. Ok i understand Cyphoidbomb please tell Shimlaites that he shouldn't write anything in hindi on the infobox. This english encyclopedia. If he want's to write hindi in the infobox on the bollywood film articles then he should go to wikipedia hindi. Please tell him this and tell him that stop reverting my edits on Dutt (film) article. Regards, TKSS (talk) 06:56, 2 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
If you have an issue with Shimlaites, you should speak to them directly. This is a collaborative project and discussion is important. As to your point about the Hindi, if a film is released with Hindi script in the title, it's not unreasonable to include the Indic script in the infobox. For example, Drishyam was marketed largely with Malayalam script on its posters, so having the native Malayalam name in the infobox should be relatively uncontroversial. It's helpful for readers and other editors to have access to this script so they can perform their own research, such as looking for references. If a film is generally marketed using Romanised script or in English, as is often the case in Hindi films, then no, we probably shouldn't include the Hindi script in those cases. PK is best delivered as "PK", without the Hindi script. Same with Airlift, Ghayal Once Again, Baaghi, etc. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 14:43, 2 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
Actually, as I look closer at the events that transpired, TKSS, I see that you reverted Shimlaites three times without explanation here, here and here. What do you expect another editor to do when you silently revert their edits? The smart approach would have been to revert with a clear edit summary, then to drop Shimlaites a note on his talk page or on the article talk page to explain your objection. This whole thing could have been avoided with clear, friendly discussion. It would be appreciated if you'd please endeavor to do things differently the next time, because we simply can't run a collaborative project this way. Thank you. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Untitled Sanjay Dutt biopic, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Indian. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
