Welcome and introduction

edit

Hi, Iamlatin. This is NOT some automated message...it's from a real person by golly! And this real person (that would be me), wants to say welcome to Wikipedia! I'm glad you've made an account! Thanks for joining; you're on your way to making some great contributions.

Because I've noticed you've just joined, I wanted to give you a few tips to get you started. If you have any questions, please talk to us. Any questions are fine, nothing is too silly (we've heard them all). Now, the tips below - hop on them - they should help you begin editing. Best of luck! Yessss! You made an account! Totally sweet!
  • Anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people. Besides that, you shouldn't feel nervous or anything about a good-willed contribution. If you're concerned, talk to us.
  • When you're ready, start your first article using the Article Wizard. You don't HAVE to use it, but for your first article it really helps. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references. If you'd like more guidance, you guessed it, talk to us.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page. (You'll want to sign your name with these four tildes ~~~~ when you leave something on a talk page to help know who you are!)

Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

P.S. If you just feel like poking around, Wikipedia:Help is a good place to start. :)

Images of the Paraguayan guaraní

edit

Hello, you may not have noticed it yet, but I have started a deletion discussion at Commons regarding the images of Paraguayan currency. It looks as if the coins and banknotes are copyrighted, so Commons can't host any photos of them. I have transferred your pictures of the 2,000 G note and two photos of the 100 G coin by Fenixvarela85 to the English Wikipedia. Here we can use a few examples under a fair use claim, but I'm afraid it would not be possible to fill all entries of the tables in the article with an image. Please feel free to join the discussion at Commons. There's a notice at your user talk page over there with a link. De728631 (talk) 19:21, 8 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
