Dear Hoary,
I disagree with some of your opinions pertaining the content of this page. The each sentence is directly explicated and summarized from reliable sources like the New York Times and New Yorker. Each article that I used was NOT written by the gallery itself, thus are reliable secondary sources. When I did input something that the gallery has said about itself, I put it in quotes. Even that statement that I put in quotes was, in my opinion, impartial. What the gallery said about itself was solely the mission of the gallery, which I think is crucial information for any reader to have on the gallery as each institution or company has an entrepreneurial mission. Also, I'd argue that a lot of what I wrote is factual and basic information about the gallery (i.e. stating the location, type of art exhibited, and infrastructure), each of which are referenced. Furthermore, I mirrored the structure of the Wikipedia pages of other New York galleries to make sure that my writing was neither lavish nor subjective. I tried to make that my writing was short, direct, sourced, and objective.
I know that it may seem like I am using encouraging or positive language to uplift the gallery due to the COI declaration; however, I only signed the COI because I am volunteering to make a Wikipedia page for this gallery because I love to write and edit, I have no promotional connection to the gallery. I signed the COI declaration to show how seriously I take Wikipedia's integrity guidelines, even though I am volunteering, I wanted to make sure that my commitment to unbiased writing was conveyed.
I can go through and edit the sentence that you highlighted, and make the content of the page more blunt and less stylized.
I really hope that this page can be approved with my new edits as I would love to create a Wikipedia page, I put a great amount of time and effort into creating this and I would hate to see that go down the drain.
Thank you for your initial feedback and your continued consideration of this page. I hope my response clarifies my intention and my commitment to making a clear and precise Wikipedia article.
All the best, INJCurator (talk) 19:30, 8 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
