Orphaned non-free media (Image:IAVI_LOGO.png) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:IAVI_LOGO.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 01:16, 2 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with Image:Seth headshot.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Seth headshot.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Need any help? edit

Hi. I edit a lot of articles about HIV vaccination and I saw what you have been doing. There are a lot of things I need to be able to improve HIV vaccination articles on Wikipedia and I am always looking for help. If you are with IAVI then perhaps we can collaborate if you have time and interest in Wikipedia. Talk to me on my userpage if you want to work together; it might be best to arrange a phone appointment or talk by email after that. Thanks. Blue Rasberry (talk) 03:41, 24 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your recent contributions. As I am sure you know, whenever anyone does Internet searches for any topic related to HIV they find information on Wikipedia. Any effort you can make to improve content on Wikipedia beyond the article for your own organization would be very appreciated.
Also, it is against Wikipedia policy to edit under the name of an organization. Please see WP:CORPNAME for the policy on this. To comply with Wikipedia policy consider changing your username because the person making the edits is the person who owns the account. Wikipedia prohibits organizations from owning accounts. See here to change username.
Thanks! I am a big supporter of IAVI and HIV vaccine research. Blue Rasberry (talk) 14:35, 14 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hi -- thanks for your comments. The page is not owned by IAVI -- the couple of recent small changes were made to reflect up-to-date and accurate information that this page referenced from www.iavi.org, as this website was recently relaunched. I cannot help with additional pages, but some additional resources you might want to look at for additional information on HIV vaccines that could help you can be found in these publications and sites http://www.kff.org/hivaids/upload/7124-08.pdf http://www.niaid.nih.gov/about/organization/vrc/Pages/default.aspx, and http://www.historyofvaccines.org/. As you like. I will see you again when you return. Blue Rasberry (talk) 02:05, 21 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
