Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 16:08, 19 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

I am very sorry for making the mistake of making promotional edit; I will not do such a thing again. I did not realize that this name would violate the username policy, and I am very sorry for that. I am never paid to contribute anything. I will write objectively and refer to more facts and sources in my future edits and articles. Houseofgooddeed (talk) 02:23, 25 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

What is your association with the House of Good Deeds? What edits do you intend do make? 331dot (talk) 08:41, 25 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

I was an unpaid volunteer that had previously helped this organization with a few of its nonprofit charity events (such as organizing community giveaways). That was my association with them, nothing more. I am no longer associated with them in 2023. They did not hire me to write this for them, I was not paid to edit. I declared as an COI only because of this pervious volunteering experience that took place over 1 year ago. (Therefore, I am not actually sure if I qualify as a COI...)
I wrote the article because I am a college student who was always interested in charity and community service, and as I finished my volunteer work, I think I know this organization enough to provide some information about it on Wiki. I named my account House of Good Deeds because I thought I would only write this one article, so this name seemed suitable. I did not realize it was a violation of policy, and I am very sorry.
However, I do understand that my previous draft was not objective enough, and I am really sorry about that. I had very little experience with writing wiki articles, but in the past few days I have learned a lot from my friends and schoolmates who had experiences on how to write more informative, objective wiki articles. Therefore, I really hope I could edit my draft on House of Good Deeds, correct my error and write something more factual and objective about the organization. I have done my research and will write unbiasedly, providing more reliable, independent references.
After addressing the issues in my previous draft of House of Good Deeds, I hope to write more edits on NGOs, to provide more objective and reliable information for wikipedia users that have an interest in charity or nonprofit organization researches like me. Your choice of new username would be fine. Perhaps other admins will feel differently- but I would prefer that you refrained from editing about the House of Good Deeds at this time and edit about organizations for which you have absolutely no connection with. You may make a new request, I am declining this one. 331dot (talk) 09:40, 3 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
