Hello again, I did not realize you were trying to create a article on Anthony January, I see you have now made a draft in the proper area, you might find Wikipedia:Your first article or Wikipedia:Articles for creation helpful if you have not read them already. Welcome to Wikipedia. - Scio c (talk) 04:43, 9 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

My apologies

edit

I am new to this and I just clicked edit and started putting in information and now I see I did it on someone’s actual page. I apologize. Any tips on how to get my first article up on Wikipedia? Hoopconnoisseur (talk) 04:48, 9 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hey I really appreciate your Help. Thank you so much! Hoopconnoisseur (talk) 04:59, 9 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

No problem. I should apologize though as I should have realized what you were trying to do and offered help instead of a generic message. You have already done a lot of the work and made a draft in the correct area. I did some minor reformatting and added two half decent sources (I think). I'm pretty new to Wikipedia myself but I think we should try to flesh out the article a bit more with any noteworthy information that we can find a reliable source for (see WP:RS). - Scio c (talk) 05:10, 9 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

It’s ok I totally understand. I’m just not quite sure how to work this thing yet. How can the page get out of the draft status? It seems like its hard to get it processed, is that the case? Hoopconnoisseur (talk) 05:20, 9 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

You would need to be a autoconfirmed user (see WP:AUTOCONFIRM) to create an article. But you could submit it to Wikipedia:Articles for creation by inserting {{subst:submit}} at the top of the article. I'm autoconfirmed and I could move it out of drafts but would prefer to add a bit to it before doing so. - Scio c (talk) 05:36, 9 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the information:)

edit

If i add more to it could you please take a look at it for me and let me know if there are things that need to be fixed? And also how do I add more things like how you added to the references I’m definitely slow at this I apologize lol. Hoopconnoisseur (talk) 05:45, 9 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Sure, no problem. To create a new section type ==Section name== and to cite a source if you are editing the articles raw wikicode as an example you would type <ref>{{Cite web|url=https://basketball.realgm.com/player/Anthony-January/Summary/63866|title=Anthony January Player Profile, Cal State San Bernardino, NCAA Stats, International Stats, Game Logs, Awards - RealGM|website=basketball.realgm.com|access-date=2019-05-09}}</ref> but if you use the visual editor there is a easy tool for that. see (Help:Editing and H:WT). Citations automatically show up in the reflist at the bottom of the page. I'll keep an eye on the draft and help in any way I can. let me know if you have any more questions. This has been a good learning experience for me too. - Scio c (talk) 06:14, 9 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thank you so so much for lending your helping hand, as I had no clue how complex this was lol. God Bless you and look forward to hearing from you soon. :) Hoopconnoisseur (talk) 14:21, 9 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Looking good, even with just a brief summary in the two remaining career sections you created I think it's pretty much ready to go. - Scio c (talk) 02:51, 10 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I think it's pretty much ready, I'll write a brief summary for College career and Professional career (or you could if you want to). and then I'll move it out of drafts. - Scio c (talk) 05:13, 10 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

How do you get it to show up on google if you search the persons name? Hoopconnoisseur (talk) 06:26, 10 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

I think It's just a matter of time for search engines to index new wiki pages. It was fun, I hope it passes new page review (I think it will). Cheers - Scio c (talk) 06:33, 10 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Great :)

Thank You Thank You Thank You lol... One more question I don’t want to bug you hahaha, but how do i fix this prob at the top of the article that says

  • This article may have too many section headers diving up its content

Please help improve the article by merging similar sections and removing unneeded subheaders. Hoopconnoisseur (talk) 06:39, 10 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Bagumba. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, LeBron James, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. —Bagumba (talk) 06:50, 24 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:53, 23 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
