Image on Nathan Cruz

edit

Hello. The image you have uploaded to commons does not have the necessary confirmation of an appropriate license from the copyright owner (judging from the watermark on the image) so unless you fix that on commons it will be deleted there. You can read the instructions on commons to find out what is necessary: Commons:OTRS.

We do not place image acknowledgements in captions in any case, and that is not proof of a valid license. I accept that your second edit changing the caption was a good faith effort to address my concern, unfortunately that is not enough.

We cannot accept the image on Wikipedia until it has a valid license, so I will again remove it from the article. Do not restore it until the license is sorted out. Please read Wikipedia:Edit warring and Wikipedia:Copyright violations to see why not.

I'm afraid that even if you can obtain a valid license, I do not think that the image improves Wikipedia: the current picture gives the reader a real-life impression of the subject rather than a posed publicity photograph. So I would probably restore the original even if the alternative has a suitable license. It that happens you will be able to start a section on the article's talk page to try to gain consensus for the change you want. Please read Wikipedia:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle and Wikipedia:Dispute resolution for further information.

Sorry to hit you with so much formality and extra reading. My next post will be a standard welcome (with yet more "helpful" links!). --Mirokado (talk) 00:14, 18 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
