Hello there,

I think you are assigned to peer-review my work. I don't have much posted but if you could look at the article and see what you think when you have a chance that would be amazing.

Thanks MPears11 (talk) 02:03, 7 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
I finally got access to your peer review today. Thank you.
I am not able to access your sandbox. I spoke with the teacher about it, and for some reason it just isn't working. I peer reviewed the Fairy Queen article and I will post my peer review here. Sorry for the inconvenience. It just doesn't give me access to your sandbox!
Strengths:
  1. Many sources are cited and used.
  2. The images seem good and shouldn't be changed unless there is some problem with copyright.
  3. Article mentions Greek mythology which may be a good starting point for research. There will be a lot of information if this topic is connected to Greek myths. There is a lot of room for you to add mythology information.
Weaknesses:
  1. "Medieval Christian authorities condemned cult beliefs of nocturnal, female spirit leaders who might accept offerings or take practitioners on a nighttime journey." This statement needs elaboration and a citation. There are parts of the article that sound like original research, which is not allowed on Wikipedia. Another example is "An unnamed fairy queen appears in Thomas the Rhymer (Child 37), where she takes the titular character as her lover and leaves him with prophetic abilities. Although the romances and ballads associated with Thomas the Rhymer have parallels to Tam Lin, including the tithe to Hell, this fairy queen is a more benevolent figure." There are more examples in the Modern literature section.
  2. The article does not have a fully academic tone. Example: "... is thoughtlessly cursed by a human girl who must then serve as her midwife. Fionnbharr’s wife attempts revenge by giving the girl a belt that will cut her in two when she puts it on, but a fairy servant warns the girl in time." This doesn't have an encyclopedia tone.
  3. There is no section devoted to mythology. It is mentioned, but needs to be organized into a section devoted to all the mythological information you may have found.
  4. The lead is weak and doesn't cover all the information in the article. By reading the lead, someone would assume the article is much shorter.

Horse mythology zodiac moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Horse mythology zodiac, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Liz Read!
