Hi. I like the table you added to Children of Men. As a new editor, you may not be aware of the attribution policy that I linked to in the header above. It might be best to move your edits to either the talk or temp page, so that we can merge them into the article with sources. I would like to see the content in the theme section, but we need reliable sources. I may be able to source some of them, and we may be able to use the official script as a descriptive, primary source. Let me know. —Viriditas | Talk 00:49, 1 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

However, the script is not an citable source, as it doesn't accurately describe events as they transpire in the film.Arcayne 04:17, 1 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
The primary source, an official release script off of the official website, can be used for descriptive purposes per policy. For more guidance, see Wikipedia:Manual of Style (writing about fiction). I have just gathered half of the quotes from RS, so it will be easy to see any major differences. It is your opinion that the official shooting script is inaccurate. Referring to the film within a film from the script in a descriptive manner is perfectly acceptable according to policy. On the other hand, interpretations of a fictional story must use secondary sources. —Viriditas | Talk 06:25, 1 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for getting back to me. If you have the URL for the official page where you downloaded the propaganda film, we may be able to salvage some things. I'm going to copy the official script below so you can report back with any differences from the official film you watched online. Then, I would suggest looking for secondary sources to back up other observations:

A state propaganda loop showing a images of worldwide destruction... "PARIS" -- the battered Eiffel Tower surrounded by ruins. "MOSCOW" -- the Kremlin standing, dead bodies on the streets. "PHILADELPHIA" -- army fighting heavily armed militias, Liberty bell in the b.g. "MADRID" -- 1500 men hung in the Plaza del Sol. "KUALA LUMPUR" -- only one Petronas Tower standing. "THE WORLD IS FALLING APART..." The images of destruction accelerating until... BONG! The montage ends on Big Ben, still ticking, the Holst March rising. Title: "ONLY BRITAIN SOLDIERS ON."

Thanks for the link to the official site. You could easily describe the film using the script and the website, but any interpretations of the images require secondary sources. Are you able to find written descriptions or interpretations of the propaganda film on the official website? I will help you find sources by adding them to the section on the article talk page. —Viriditas | Talk 00:14, 2 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Don't worry, I think we can salvage much of what you've written with good secondary sources. I encourage you to remain hopeful. First, do you have any objections to converting the table into prose? It might make it easier for other editors to work with it and accept it. Second, I will be looking for sources and adding them to the temp page as I find them. I suggest we work on it there. —Viriditas | Talk 08:12, 2 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hoax

As a rule, we don't put discussions of such hoaxes in articles ... it simply encourages their repetition.Kww (talk) 15:57, 11 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
