Speedy deletion nomination of Pcloudy edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Pcloudy, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. @CatcherStorm:, can you please tell me which one is promotional there? Halveey (talk) 06:23, 22 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, Halveey. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Pcloudy, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. CatcherStorm talk 06:15, 22 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please go through my edits. Do you think I am getting paid for my edits? Halveey (talk) 06:24, 22 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
Paid editing is only one way to have a conflict of interest. As stated in the above message CatcherStorm gave to you, you also have a conflict of interest with yourself, your family, and friends. Kind of interesting that you jumped to that conclusion, though. I'll assume you skimmed through the message, which is something I do as well. The last part of the paid editing caught my attention. Anyway, it is obvious that I will prefer to write on a topic in which I have knowledge. This is related to my domain. I do not have any friends or family working in this software development. I have been editing other related articles and do not have a COI with those topics as well. How does X work? edit

I created an article on Pcloudy which was previously soft-deleted back in 2016. I believe it is notable but the reviewers are keep marking it for deletion! What I can do in this situation please? Halveey (talk) 06:25, 22 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Halveey, the page was originally deleted per an articles for deletion discussion. That's hardly a "soft deletion", and would take a more experienced editor than yourself to not get it speedily deleted. I dream of horses if you check the AFD[1], the only delete vote other than the nominator was by a blocked editor for socking. I can accept an AFD but how this become a CSD candidate despite multiple citations? --Halveey (talk) 06:57, 22 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
If you read the CSD criteria, there are also concerns with a lack of mention of significance (that is, there isn't even a mention of *why* the the article is notable), and the article being overly-promotional (iffy, admittedly). Either criterion can apply to articles with multiple citations. I dream of horses (talk) (contribs) Remember to {{ping}} me after replying off my talk page 07:01, 22 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the kind response. I will be working on this but could you please point me to the promotional part? It is hardly few lines and I am unable to see anything that is promoting it. --Halveey (talk) 07:04, 22 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
I don't see it myself, but will ultimately leave it up to an admin to decide if it qualifies for deletion. I dream of horses (talk) (contribs) Remember to {{ping}} me after replying off my talk page 07:07, 22 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for taking time to answer my queries. Regards, Halveey (talk) 07:15, 22 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
