A tag has been placed on Draft:Grelka Republic, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. SpencerT•C 09:09, 31 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Accept reason:

As the blocking admin does not object, and you have described what topics you will edit about that are unrelated to this business/podcast, I will remove the block. Please be advised that any additional promotional editing could result in being reblocked. I might suggest that you use the new user tutorial to learn about Wikipedia before editing. 331dot (talk) 19:42, 6 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

I have renamed your account, which resolves that aspect of the block. Please describe what it is that you did wrong, how you won't do it again, and tell what contributions you wish to make. 331dot (talk) 08:49, 1 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

What was done wrong ; I was not attempting to promote or submit any information that was not true or correct. But it appears to have be taken that way. I will not attempt to promote any business is a way that breaches the rules. I was just submitting information related to a show.

The contributions i wish to make are UFC result and history related, as well as music event and information.Gregor Barnett (talk) 07:58, 2 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Do you have any connection to the podcast you wrote about or those that produce it? 331dot (talk) 10:40, 2 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

i have connection to the podcast, the information i initially wrote was all true and correct. It was not intended as promotional, it was intended as information regarding a business and persons associated with it— Preceding unsigned comment added by Gregor Barnett (talkcontribs)

Would you agree to not edit about or link to the podcast?
Not every comment needs to be an unblock request; only one open request is needed. Subsequent comments should be standard, unformatted comments. Also, please edit this existing section, instead of creating additional sections. This is easier in the full desktop mode as the app and mobile versions do not have full functionality. 331dot (talk) 12:50, 2 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Apologies for creating e new section each time, as you can probably tell, i am new to this.

I will agree not to write about the business, does that mean that no one else can write about it either? We have a had a number of people on the show that have their own wikipedia page, so the main intention was to link to their page, so people who want information about them, can see things they have been involved in.

It does not mean that no one can edit about it ever, but you nor anyone associated with the podcast/business should not(this would include asking listeners to the podcast). This is not necessarily permanent for you, but you will need to develop a good edit history showing that you understand relevant Wikipedia guidelines(you don't need to know them all, I don't know them all) before being permitted to indirectly contribute about the podcast/business. 331dot (talk) 07:02, 4 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Is it possible to get my account unlocked? Im not sure what else you require from me.Gregor Barnett (talk) 09:12, 6 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • Spencer I'm interested in hearing any views you have on this. 331dot (talk) 10:07, 6 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
    • 331dot I tend to let uninvolved admins review my blocks unless the original block was an error on my part; I stand by my original spamublock (and furthermore some of the content in the original deleted page implied the possibility for multiple members/shared use). That said, I believe this user seems to have met the criteria under {{Uw-spamublock}} to be unblocked, but if promotional editing continues, a repeat block would be warranted. I think the other consideration is that if there are others with a conflict of interest creating similar pages, and these editors should carefully review Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, otherwise they could be blocked as well. Overall, it is best if someone is related to the podcast, that person should not create a page or edit related to it. If the podcast is truly notable, someone else would potentially create a draft page and go from there. Best, SpencerT•C 19:39, 6 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Wow you really have a sticky honey style of your presence here:-

WP:OR
WP:RS

some basic issues and a required attitude - this is an online enyclopedia -

WP:ABOUT
WP:NOT

adding anecdotal and unreferenced material by now, and what has been mapped out above in this talk page - suggests you must be a self driving kamikaze pilot or a large section of a very smelly lump of off-cheese JarrahTree 07:32, 1 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Im not 100% sure what the above message is referring to. Was there something that didnt comply with the rules of Wikipedia? Gregor Barnett (talk) 10:16, 1 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Your most recent edits are WP:OR as they have no WP:RS - some more enthusiastic less verbose editor than I might just revert your edits as there is no attempt to source the information - By dropping the links I am trying to offer some pointers as to what you need to grow/develop when editing... the need to have a citation/reliable source is basic JarrahTree 10:58, 1 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Ok thanks, this is all official information, which can be certified from the Australian amateur boxing association. I am learning how to reference information with this page. I will refer to your links to make the relevant changes and additions Gregor Barnett (talk) 11:14, 1 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
The information might be official - it has to be on/in publicly available material - and it is always easier to reverse engineer an article about something similar JarrahTree 11:27, 1 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Is it acceptable to reference youtube videos to confirm match results in this sport? I have read conflicting information Gregor Barnett (talk) 08:26, 8 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
The only time YouTube is acceptable as a source is when the video is from a reputable news outlet(or similar) on its verified channel. I suppose a video from an official league YouTube channel might be okay. 331dot (talk) 10:29, 8 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the information. The video i intend to reference will be from the events official youtube page, this footage also will feature on the production companys page Brightside. Brightside is a well known production company in Perth Western Australia, who produce footage from the National Basketball League in Australia.
I will cite one video, but if this is not acceptable, please let me know and i will remove the edit immediately.
I appreciate your assistance with making this page comply to all Wikipedia rules and regulations. Gregor Barnett (talk) 10:36, 8 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
I also want to confirm, that this information is in no way being used to promote or benefit any business or company. This page is for credible information and reference purposes only. Gregor Barnett (talk) 10:37, 8 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
The link was deemed not acceptable, and has been immediately removed Gregor Barnett (talk) 10:40, 8 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

The page Perth Corporate Rumble is a major annual event in a major Australian city. As no one associated with the event has the ability or know how to edit the page, this is the reason for the single contributor. What steps can be taken to re-publish the page.
